Crews are continuing to install pilings in the center of World Showcase lagoon to support the infrastructure of EPCOT's new nighttime show.

So far, more than two dozen pilings are in position, with more on the way. Note that the pilings will be cut below the water level, and will not be visible.

Disney has remained very tight-lipped about the new nighttime spectacular, with only a single piece of concept art released so far. Disney has said the new show will debut later this year and will be the replacement for the now-closed Harmoinous show. EPCOT Forever will continue to play in the interim until the new show is ready.

I would rather have something completely new with no IP and a similar uplifting vibe to ROE, I would rather not keep Luminous.

No. DHS' Pad would be Too Far for Epcot Events. Moonlight Magic is always in WSL. If High Pyro is returning to DHS, JBJB! really should run Christmas Week and a Regular Show should come in 2027!!!!!!!!!!

I agree. Plus, if Disney brought back ROE, it wouldn't be the same without the inferno or Earth barges. At this point, I would prefer Disney to keep updating the Luminous hardware and adding to the show.

You are in luck. Disney agrees with you. Illuminations will never return in any form... They would never use the Illuminations sound track verbatim, but it would be cool if they started with the Illumination sound track and slipped in a few IPs in. I know, I know.... Never gonna happen. I am thankful for the many years we enjoyed I illuminations before it was destroyed and replaced.

I actually would prefer something new. As much as I loved ROE and would have preferred an update over outright replacement it is water under the bridge now so the best we can hope for is something that is similarly uplifting for our current world. ROE was a product of its time in the sense that it was basically about that turn of the millennium optimism that has largely been completely inverted in the last twenty-five years.

Yeah I don’t really care if it’s IP or not. As long as the music serves the narrative and story being told, and in my opinion Luminous does just that, with great original songs bookending it.

Bring Illuminations back! Use original sound track verbatim, and rework the visuals to use the new hardware. ;)
