EPCOT's Rose Walk Flex Space Shade Canopy
Posted: Friday July 26, 2024 9:12am ET by WDWMAGIC Staff

EPCOT's recently opened flex space area along the rose walk from World Celebration to World Showcase is now covered.

The previously installed support columns now support a dark grey/blue shade canopy in addition to string lighting.

Beneath the canopy, guests will find seating, outdoor family games, and cooling fans.

I could see them taking a middle-ground route with this and essentially rebuilding just the central planter and the immediate surrounding pathways but leaving everything else in the spine alone.

Nothing announced. The optimist is me says they’re going to bring in jackhammers overnight, rip out the center spine and re-do it from scratch. The realist in me says… some light (not LED-connected) concrete work.

Someone needs to investigate if they ordered more Tapcons ;)

So do we have any concrete (ha) idea at all of what's happening here?

If only it's a case of what's old is new and maybe they'll redo the ground lights with the innoventions fibre optic paving.

The lighting channels getting replaced by bags of Franzia confirmed.

The rather bare and unimpressive central planter usually gets updated overnight.

No ground lights are better then the s#it ground lights we have now.

ZachPL5 hours ago

Might as well just cement them at this point.

We've seen them do planters for a couple days then walls with other projects.

Disstevefan15 hours ago

But that kind of thing is a over night kind of task I think?

Disstevefan15 hours ago

Just a guess, but the planters probably mean they are taking another stab at fixing OR cementing over the ground lighting. I suspect we will never get a fountain. :(

this is probably nothing more than food and wine display...if anything significant wouldn't walls be going up and not planters?

tparris5 hours ago

Rolling planters have begun to be installed around the central planter.
