Are the Muppets about to takeover the Hall of Presidents?

Jan 14, 2021 in "The Hall of Presidents"

With Joe Biden set to begin his term as president of the United States of America next week, attention is now on Walt Disney World's Hall of Presidents and how the show will be updated.

Following the last election in 2016, the Hall of Presidents closed on January 17 2017 to rework the show to include the new president. The refurbishment lasted through to June and saw a rather tense opening which saw a heavy security presence that persisted long after the opening.

A tweet today from the official Muppet account has sparked interest in the possibility of the Muppets taking over the attraction.

Calling all Muppet fans! Get ready for a major and important Muppet announcement coming soon. What is it? We have no idea.

The Muppets are no strangers to the Hall of Presidents, having recently performed their live show in Liberty Square 'The Muppets Present... Great Moments in American History.' Introducing the Muppets into the Hall of Presidents would continue Disney's recent desire to introduce existing characters to all new projects, and would perhaps avoid some of the political challenges that may be involved.

No, the guests.

What are you saying? They are going to put Statler and Waldorf in the balcony, where they can make fun of the presidents???

I have not seen nor read anything about replacing HoP but rather enhance, update, improve or add to the entertainment it provides. The Muppets are a part of Americana.

I don't want to see the Muppets in Magic Kingdom, especially if they are replacing Hall. If you want to do something Disney finally give us "The Great Muppet Movie Ride" at DHS.

But if enough people in this thread wish upon a star hard enough this rumor may come true!

this is the fakest rumor of all time

Perhaps it is unfortunate that HoP (and CoP as well) is the past to some and the future to others. Adding the muppets to HoP (or CoP) would be entirely inappropriate to those to whom it is either a respectful display of their past or a projection of their future.

Which Epcot bar are you at? I’ll join you! Haha. (Jk. Of course... the way this thread is going that would get way too expensive.)

Every time somebody posts this, and the “all the presidents are muppets” jokes on this thread, I take a shot.

Me too! It’s a great way to showcase lesser known presidents

Facts my dude! The show is one of the best shows I have ever seen. As a kid the show honestly got me more invested in American History and our Presidents.

I'm pretty sure there's LOTS of Disney Parks guests that want Disney to permanently end FastPass+. Also, there's no movement to REMOVE HoP (that I'm aware of.) Some people would just like to see Disney improve the way they tell the story on that stage. There may be, but that doesn't make them wrong. I'd never witnessed an audience disrespect that show the way they disrespected the post-2016 version. (Honestly, the Hillary animatronic wearing a Trump wig didn't help.)
