The new nighttime spectacular "World of Color – ONE" will debut at Disney California Adventure park on January 27 2023.

Part of the Disney100 celebration at the Disneyland Resort, "World of Color – ONE" celebrates how a single action, like a drop of water, creates a ripple that can grow into a wave of change.

According to Disney, "You'll discover how it only takes one action to make an impact on the people in our lives and the world around us, just as one man – Walt Disney – started the wave that has continued to grow and inspire people around the globe for 100 years."

Music will draw from Walt Disney Animation Studios, Pixar Animation Studios, the Avengers, and Star Wars. Moments from favorite films such as "The Lion King," "Moana," "Coco," "Mulan," "Soul," and others emerge on an immense water screen that can span up to 380 feet across.

The musical score comprised of 18 different compositions, including a new, original song "Start a Wave," which was written by GRAMMY®-nominated artist Cody Fry and features lead vocals performed by singer-songwriter and actress Loren Allred.

When "World of Color – ONE" debuts, you will be able to access viewing areas for the show through a virtual queue system available only via the Disneyland app.* Distribution for the complimentary virtual queue will begin at noon, daily (subject to availability), and is available for guests who have entered Disney California Adventure park for the day or have entered Disneyland park with a Park Hopper ticket. On nights when there are multiple showtimes, distribution for additional showtimes will begin immediately after distribution for the first showtime has ended. If you have obtained a virtual queue selection, enter your designated viewing area for your designated show time via one of the two marked entrance points (Blue or Yellow) approximately 30-45 minutes before the show begins.

If the virtual queue reaches capacity, check in with a cast member at the Paradise Bay viewing area shortly before "World of Color – ONE" begins for walk-up viewing options. Joining the virtual queue is not required, but it is highly recommended as walk-up viewing options for each performance are available on a first-come, first-served basis.

I’m with you - any light from that area makes a big difference to the show.

I saw WoC One this past Saturday and during the 9pm show towards the end, Incredicoaster broke down and as expected, its work lights turned on. I was mildly irritated on how the lights are seen through the mist screen as seen in the photo I took below. I'm likely in the minority here but I think the coaster should go back to being closed for the show. And I'm usually out of the parks by 10pm on weekends so staying for the 10:15 is not an option for me.

Flame throwers look to be working pretty well these days.

Interestingly, the Disneyland Instagram account posted today and does not acknowledge the previously-announced refurbishment dates. Looks like it was shortened heavily.

I feel the same for every version of the show. I’m not sure why they go for the longer run times. I genuinely love the original, one and Seasons of Light but all of them could get a few minutes cut.

Darn, guess it was an off night for the bubbles. It was a bit windy during the 10:30pm show, but that hasn't stopped it in the past years afaik. And yea I was surprised with the fountains themselves. Their upkeep has been better then pre-Covid surprisingly lol.

I’ve been looking at video lately, and yeah, no fire so far this season, but every video I’ve seen has had the bubbles working, shame it didn’t for you. Fountain array itself seems to be in good shape, even the chasers don’t have noticeable gaps anymore.

Kinda unrelated, but it's the closest thread so ehh. I finally got to see World of Color (just the winter seasonal show) for the 1st time last Saturday (11/18). My last and also very first trip to DCA was back in 2010, so no WoC yet and there were walls everywhere and I was only like 10 years old. I do remember the giant California letters outside the park gates tho! Anyways, WoC was what I imagined it would. A grand display of fountains and water, with music. It still wow'd me that chilly night, despite seeing countless videos of the show(s) online. My MagicBand+ also played along with the show, but not much compared to other shows like HEA and F! in WDW. All of the moving fountains in the back row were working as far as I can tell. The flames were not working for that night. The heart shaped bubbles during the finale weren't working either. Was really disappointed since I kinda hyped up that effect with my friends who were true first-timers. The WoC: Seasons of Light show itself was a bit long imo (~30 mins long). Think they could cut a song or two, especially with the long post-show. My absolute favorite segment is the Trans-Siberian 'Carol of the Bells'. As noted, the fire wasn't working that night, so it was a bit of a bummer. The Peace on Earth finale is also very good, despite the missing heart bubbles.

No thanks.

Based on recent precedent, assume that they are incapable of adding IP without also entirely changing the show and likely ruining what works about it in the process. Be careful what you wish for.

Twilight_RoxasNov 13, 2023

Oh no no no. I meant SoL could still be the same just adding more films like Moana, RBTI, Frozen 2, Coco, Onward, Soul, Luca, Raya & Last Dragon, Turning Red, Encanto, Strange World, Elemental, and Wish.

Disney VaultNov 13, 2023

Season of light is so perfect that I don't want them to touch it. Remember how long it took them to get a good holiday show?! Winter dreams and winter dreams 2.0 with all the frozen were both awful. Now they need to work on a decent Halloween show.

EmmanuelNov 13, 2023

Both SOL and the "Classic" World of Color are due for an upgrade content wise.

Twilight_RoxasNov 12, 2023

I think they need to update Seasons of Light to add more films that came out after Zootopia & Inside Out.
