Disney's Minnie Van Service will return to operation this summer at Walt Disney World beginning June 29 2022.

Minnie Van Service provides service to and from select locations within Walt Disney World Resort from 6:30am to 12:30am daily but will not be serving Orlando International Airport for now.

Also new at relaunch is the ability for accessible vehicles to be requested via the app instead of via phone.

The Minnie Van Service came to a halt alongside the shutdown of the parks in 2020 due to COVID pandemic, and did not return with the subsequent reopening. With the return of Minnie Vans, more than 75 original Cast Members are returning to their roles.

Much of the Minnie Van fleet has been sold off, but a number of SUV's remained in storage at the EPCOT parking lot over the last few years and training has recently been underway around property.

Walt Disney World's Minnie Van Service was introduced mid-2017 using a flat-rate billing model per trip, and operated with 2017 Chevrolet Traverse Premier mid-sized SUVs. As a competitor to Uber, Minnie Van Service was powered by Lyft and soon expanded to provide transfers to and from Orlando International Airport. In late 2018, the service switched to distance-based pricing, and became significantly more expensive.

How Minnie Van Service Works

Minnie Van service works with the Lyft app. Simply open the Lyft app from anywhere within Walt Disney World Resort to access Minnie Van service, request a ride and pay for it through the app—or call (407) 828-3500 to request an accessible vehicle. Cars are usually minutes away.

To request a ride through the Lyft app:

  • Open the Lyft app and select your Walt Disney World destination.
  • Confirm your pick-up location and destination. Lyft will provide a fare estimate, and your payment will be processed through the app.
  • Tap “Select Minnie Van”; if Minnie Van service is not the default vehicle type displayed, you will need to scroll through your vehicle options until Minnie Van service is displayed.
  • The app will display a map tracking the vehicle en route—along with an identifying vehicle number to help you spot your car.

Need an Accessible Vehicle?

  • Open the Lyft app in Walt Disney World Resort.
  • Confirm your pickup location and destination. Lyft will provide a fare estimate, and your payment will be processed directly through the app.
  • Tap “Select Accessible Minnie Van”. If accessible Minnie Van service doesn’t immediately display, scroll through vehicle type options until it appears.
  • Track your vehicle’s progress on a map provided by the app. You’ll also see the vehicle number to help you spot your car.

What to Expect – The Vehicle

Minnie Van vehicles are roomy, comfortable and playfully themed with a style inspired by Minnie Mouse. Each vehicle accommodates up to 6 Guests.

What to Expect – The Experience

Minnie Van drivers are Disney Cast Members who are trained to whisk you off to where you need to be—with a smile. Each vehicle is equipped with 2 child safety seats that our Disney Cast Members are expertly trained to install for you.

Pricing

Prices vary based on distance traveled from pick-up location to requested destination within Walt Disney World Resort.
You’ll see the total cost and pay for the service conveniently through the Lyft app.

Hours of Operation

Minnie Van service operates from 6:30 AM to 12:30 AM daily. Hours of operation are subject to change.

DW is in a w/c and the Minnie Van really helped us on the last trip we were on when it was available. Bus space is sometimes very limited because of all the scooters guests are using now. Booking the van in advance gave us assuredness that we could get to a reserved site on time. We used the service multiple times. A nice feature that we are glad came back. But I would hope those who really need it due to disability have the spots available.

On one hand, that will make it easier for larger groups to get a Minnie Van. On the other, it could make it harder for those who need the accessible van to actually get one. I wonder if they have data indicating that the accessible vans aren't being requested often enough to justify not offering them to everyone.

Needs to be a clown car where I can fit 12 people and we can split it.

It theoretically should.

dreday3Nov 28, 2022

But in future would expand to all resort guests? Or stay club level only?

monothingieNov 28, 2022

Just round it up the next hundred and call it a day. Tax and tip not included.

RteetzNov 28, 2022

It was $150ish (one way) I think.

monothingieNov 28, 2022

Whatever it was add 15-25% to it now.

Disstevefan1Nov 28, 2022

I suspect it's almost guaranteed Mears will be less.

CaptinEONov 28, 2022

I wonder how it will compare to Mears express.
