Work is continuing on the new frontage at Disney's Polynesian Resort Great Ceremonial House and monorail station as the late July deadline rapidly approaches.

The new bridge linking the monorail platform to the upper level of the Great Ceremonial house is very much in position.

On the monorail station itself, beams are being installed to create the distinctive roofline.

It looks like the timetable to complete this project is very tight, with the resort expected to reopen in late July 2021.

According to Disney the new porte cochere will enhance the arrival experience as guests pull up to its Great Ceremonial House. The design features a high-pitched, open-truss roof covered in a thatch style with pops of color. The area’s new open and airy vibe will be complemented by four chandeliers inspired by glass floats, fishing nets and oversized bamboo elements mirroring the chandelier inside the lobby. In addition, the resort’s Monorail station located above the porte cochere is receiving new wooden screens with geometric patterns in tropical colors, adding to the overall ambience of the entrance.

At that time, they were shared across all 5 epcot resorts to MK, regardless of time of day.

I think (but someone correct me) almost all deluxes have dedicated busses at park open and close with maybe yacht/beach being the exception, but almost all other times of the day they share across resorts.

When we stayed at Boardwalk (about 10 years ago) FIVE resorts shared a bus to MK. FIVE.

I'm been here at WDW for a week. I've seen the Polynesian sharing with the Contemporary and the Contemporary sharing with the Wilderness lodge. All the buses leaving Disney Springs have been pretty empty.

Poly was sharing with Grand in June. I assumed it was temporary due to construction. Pretty ridiculous if it’s all the time now. I feel like it was only shared midday even just a couple years ago. Mornings and evenings were dedicated.

I’m seeing reports that Polynesian now shares the bus with Contemporary. Obviously sharing a bus with Grand Floridian would be a bit difficult right now with the construction.

I understand the business case of staffing and demand across resorts outside of park opening/closing hours but it still drives me wild that deluxe resorts share busses. Will always cry a little inside leaving WL and going in the opposite direction to Contemporary before heading to HS

It also has its own unique entrance/exit now that is not shared with any other traffic into the resort.

The location didn’t change but there are now 3 separate load zones for the bus - one for each destination.

I stayed in November 2025 and remember the bus stop being next to the monorail track, to the left if stood at the main entrance. Doesn't actually look like anything changed? As of November 2025 they picked up at Grand Floridian as well.

This is a great improvement - previously if the busses stacked up behind each other it could be difficult to see which bus was loading for which destination. Are the Polynesian bus routes still sharing with other resorts?

Small edit: Magic Kingdom AND Epcot guests continue to use the monorail.

New Bus Stop Now Open at Disney's Polynesian Village Resort The Polynesian Village Resort's new dedicated bus stop opened today, July 13, completing a transportation reconfiguration that moves buses away from the main Port Cochere. The new facility sits alongside the monorail beam with three pick-up points covering Hollywood Studios, Animal Kingdom, Blizzard Beach, Disney Springs, and Typhoon Lagoon, plus a standard arrival board showing real-time wait times. https://www.wdwmagic.com/resorts/Disneys-Polynesian-Resort/news/13jul2026-new-bus-stop-now-open-at-disney-s-polynesian-village-resort.htm
