Typhoon Lagoon is currently closed for its annual refurbishment, and on a recent flight over the park we got an interesting look at the park's wave pool.

One of the world's largest surfing lagoons at approximately 109,000 square feet and containing nearly three million gallons of water, the wave pool is completely drained and work is underway on maintaining the surface and preparing it for the busy season ahead.

Typhoon Lagoon is scheduled to reopen to guests on March 18 2018.

Pretty sure it's just called a skate park.

Do we know the last time the wave pool was resurfaced? Here's hoping they make it a little bit smoother, it can get a bit rough if you scrape your knee along the bottom.

Love these pictures! Thanks for sharing! Anyone else looking at the old Shark Reef area wishing they would have done something with it? Good to see the sub is still there though, I'd love to see them work it into something.
