Walt Disney Presents at Disney's Hollywood Studios will be showing preview scenes from 'Maleficent: Mistress of Evil' later this month.

“Maleficent: Mistress of Evil” is a fantasy adventure that picks up several years after “Maleficent,” in which audiences learned of the events that hardened the heart of Disney’s most notorious villain and drove her to curse a baby Princess Aurora. The film continues to explore the complex relationship between the horned fairy and the soon to be Queen as they form new alliances and face new adversaries in their struggle to protect the moors and the magical creatures that reside within.

The movie, which opens in theaters on October 18 2019 will begin previews on September 27.

I thought the same thing when I saw that. Let’s hope.

I have high hopes that scene will be in the sequel...if you watch the trailer, there's a snip of the thorn bushes growing that leads up to that scene in the original.

For my part, I don't mind if Maleficent has layers. What I didn't like was the fact that the good guys were all turned into cretins and idiots to make her look good. Lazy, uninspired scripting, to say the least. AND SHE DIDN'T EVEN TURN INTO A DRAGON!!!! what a disappointing flick. Boo on a sequel!

I don't understand why they have to make villains likable in movies. They're evil, let them be evil. People can still love them even if they're a total psychopath like The Joker (Jack Nicholson, Heath Ledger, etc) for example.

The second one has (at least from the trailers) promise of not having Maleficent being not just misunderstood, but an evil person with bad intentions. I'm with AJH219. I hope to see her character done in by a long sharp instrument.

Loved the first one. Can’t wait for the sequel.

I didn't care for the first one, so I'll definitely be skipping this one. It went too much away from the original animated film's story.
