Mission: SPACE at Walt Disney World's EPCOT has a new addition created through the combined efforts of Walt Disney Imagineering and NASA’s Perseverance Mars Rover team.

The new display replicates the tread marks left by the Perseverance rover on the surface of Mars, using a borrowed prototype rover wheel.

Disney artists also added some surface collection tubes recreated through 3D printing.

Perseverance continues its mission on Mars to collect samples that a future mission could one day return to Earth.

Rode this five times on my recent trip and fear it may not be around next time I make it down. Favorite moment went like this: Cast Member: “How many in your party?” Guest:”1” Cast Member: “How many in your party?” Guest:”1” Cast Member: “How many in your party?” Guest:”1” Cast Member: “How many in your party?” Guest:”1” Cast Member: “How many in your party?” Guest:”1” Cast Member: “How many in your party?” Guest:”1” Cast Member: “How many in your party?” Guest:”1” Cast Member: “How many in your party?” Me: “1” Literally all 8 of us were riding alone as no one will ride this thing with us. In the next area the CM joked that it was a long way to Mars and that we were all traveling with strangers so hopefully we all get along.

Thanks for clearing that up. It stings a little less now.

You miight like to search for Epcot Space Pavilion to refresh your memory of what it was and where it was supposed to go. It actaully has nothing to do with Horizons or Mission Space, so to claim that we got Mission Space instead of the proposed Space Pavilion is a bit of a stretch.

It was just a pre-show movie. https://forums.wdwmagic.com/threads/eddie-sottos-take-on-the-current-state-of-the-parks-part-ii.770938/page-185#post-5247727

It's a great attraction, I love it, it's a lot of fun, i ride it several times each day, never been ill or had a headache. Odd that, why on earth is that I wonder?

I seem to remember reading here that we were originally supposed to get a dark ride about the history and future of space exploration, in addition to the nauseating migraine factory simulator that we have now. But naturally the company that has more money than Midas ran out of money when building the pavilion. I’ve ridden this attraction once when it originally opened, felt like absolute garbage the rest of the day, and haven’t, and won’t, return. Not to belabor the point, but the fact that we lost Horizons for this- just…hurtful. It’d be like if they went to Niagara Falls, excavated it, redirected the water, paved over the surrounding land, and replaced it with a DVD loop of a film about the water cycle. That somehow also made you sick.

My biggest issue is that whenever I ride, the video is not smooth. It feels like I’m watching YouTube with a weak internet connection. On Orange Team, it makes me more dizzy.

Agreed though I have completely written off WoL.

Nemo called and screamed "Kill me!!"

three's a completely empty pavilion not to mention the shell that is the imagination pavilion. as terrible as MS is i really hope imagination or wonders of life gets touched first.

Basil of Baker StreetOct 04, 2023

I am a bit surprised that MS is still hanging on.

Can they refresh the interior too? As in, replace it with a new ride?? Rode it last month for the first time since 2003. Made me remember why I waited 20 years to do it twice.

Surprising. Small upgrade here, another one at MuppetVision. It's almost like somebody remembered how things are supposed to work at WDW.

This is a great thing in the vein of EPCOT of old.
