Magic Kingdom closing early August 14 for a private park buyout event, which will include perimeter fireworks

Walt Disney World's Magic Kingdom will be closing at 6pm on August 14 2021 to accommodate a private park-wide buyout event.

The private event in the evening is expected to feature a fireworks show that will include perimeter launch sites, resulting in road closures behind the Magic Kingdom.

Operating hours on August 14 for day guests are 8am to 6pm. The early close, of course, means no fireworks for day guests.

Options for guests following the early Magic Kingdom close include EPCOT, which is open until 10pm, and Disney's Hollywood Studios, until 9pm.
