Disney announced earlier today that Fantasmic! will return in 2022, alongside several other major entertainment offerings.

Not announced yet, is that Fantasmic! will be updated with an all-new sequence. We don't have specifics, but the new sequence will include live performers, new animation, stunts and special effects using characters that have never been in the show before. The Pocahontas sequence is likely to be replaced, but this is not yet officially confirmed.

Work has been underway on refurbishing almost all areas of the Hollywood Hills Amphitheater, which includes new lighting system, new fountains, and a rebuild of Steamboat Mickey.

Fantasmic! is set to return in 2022, and although no dates are yet available, we expect to see its return in the first half of 2022.

It was fixed the same day on the spot. Guess the air pump shut off and needed to be restarted.

MK ops controls the entertainment budget, and has for decades. If they wanted to spend more money on it, that is their own prerogative, but there hasn't really been much corporate focus on entertainment budgeting since Walt Disney Entertainment was killed as an independent division in 2001.

I have always had an issue with DL’s pacing, mainly that after the wicked witch, during what’s supposed to be the climax of the story, we get nearly 5 continuous minutes of screen time before Malnificent. DHS’s Jafar section gives us an additional live action portion to keep things moving. It’s weird that DL homers always mock the bubble section for being too long but fail to recognize their show has a far longer and worst placed lull. However, my biggest issue is the plot. In DHS Mickey has a very clear ramp up in activity, the antagonists do not start appearing until Mickey’s imagination is clearly running out of control (Hero portion) and the true villains do not show up until after the Evil Queen summons them (even though anyone without magical powers shouldn’t be there.) In DL’s version King Louie (child kidnapper) and Ka (murderous snake) are litterally the first non mice that appear on stage. It makes no sense, but then again, the pink elephants do mean Mickey is drunk. This was made worse with the 2.0 changes with Sorcerer Mickey showing up far too early. That said, Peter Pan, Mark Twain and pre burnt dragon were extremely impressive. DL’s best version was circa 60th anniversary, DHS best version is current. When comparing those two I shows I still think DHS has the best version.

Two months post DL and I think there are still hip and glute issues remaining from F!->HS. That's what I get for booking a dining package.

I certainly think WDW’s is better than DL’s in 2025. I’ve always preferred our seating area to the situation at DL, too.

This is a hot take, I suppose, but I have always preferred WDW's version of the show (in any era) to Disneyland's (in any era).

The most enjoyable show Disney has ever created. We try to see it at least once per visit without fail. I feel people who have never tried it are missing out on a huge chunk of value from what they paid to get in, it's an incredible show on so many levels. My only pet hate is the sheer number of people who get up towards the end to leave early to beat the crowds blocking your view and killing the vibe of what is such a wonderful ending to a show. There's nothing that can really be done to stop this though other than threatening to taser those leaving early or strapping people into their seats, it's really annoying though and gets worse seemingly every year.
