According to the official calendar, for the whole month of January 2009, Fantasmic! will only be performed twice per week, on Mondays and Thursdays (instead of nightly). We also have reports from cast that they have been informed of the change. This has not happened previously, even during the slower season. It isn't yet clear what the reason is, possible theories include the show undergoing a refurbishment, or Disney forecasting some very low crowds.
