I spoke to a cast member as well. She got on the phone with SoG and they also suggested a taxi. No one mentioned the ADR bus....I guess I'll just ask around when we get there and cancel the reservation if it's too much hassle. This is just sad to me that WDW can't give a straight answer on how to get to their restaurants on time! It's not like we're dropping $250 for a breakfast or anything!?o_O:(

So I called Guest Services because I am that obsessive. I told them the exact day/time I am trying to make my reservation for CP in MK. I was told these are the two options: (1) take a taxi (2) walk over to Poly and catch the "ADR bus" that they have running between Poly, GF, and Contemp.I was warned to make ample time to catch that bus as it makes stops along the way and isn't a direct route to MK.

That's the thing, isn't it? If they're doing work which would, long-term, help the monorail then, yes, I think everyone would be on board. The problem is that it looks more like cost-cutting measures like they've done in the past and said, "Sorry, we just can't run the monorail around park hours and EMHs like we used to." Yes, you can. You just don't want to. It's certainly possible to: - Build more bays - Add more trains - Increase maintenance They used to brag about the monorail's 99.99% up time. No mention of that, any longer. Just, "Oh, we're closing the monorail for n hours / day..," and, "...it'll open late on these days...," and, "...it'll be closing early on these days..." Hopefully this is all part of work to get the monorail up and running, consistently, for the 50th. It really feels like it's just ignored or run as a 2nd-tier attraction (the kind they close when there aren't enough crowds), though.

@JourneysEnd, I thought about the boat from the Poly too! I'm just not sure when they start in the AM, and I know the capacity is small compared to the monorail. Good thought though. I will probably end up calling WDW to see if I can get a direct answer. @lazyboy97o, another good option if I can figure out the cab thing. Just have to add it to the breakfast bill, lol! Hi @jmr0142, as you probably know, SoG buses don't start running until 30 minutes before park opening, so they aren't an option. As far as buses from the Poly go....I honestly don't know if they have them going to the MK...? We have always taken the monorail or ferry when leaving from there. That would certainly be the most direct and inexpensive solution to our little problem!!

Would the resort buses be running on their normal schedule? Which I believe is 60 mins prior to park opening? I am also staying at SOG and nervous about making an 8:35 ADR at CP in MK on one of these days. The least painful (and free) option that pops in my head is walking over to Poly and catching a bus from there to MK? Is that a possibility?

Take a cab to the Contemporary Resort and walk over to the Magic Kingdom.

Figment2005Jan 18, 2016

There will be transportation options available, and no cabs do not go to MK entrance just TTC.

JourneysEndJan 18, 2016

I thought cabs could only take you to the TTC. From the Poly, wouldn't the boat be running?

pirategalJan 17, 2016

Okay...cabs can drive right up to the Magic Kingdom entrance? There will be six of us....not sure a cab could take us all, but I'm willing to look into it! I would think that if Disney is still taking early ARDs on these days, they'd make sure other transportation was in place. For example, ferries running earlier, buses from the TTC to MK, or buses from the monorail resorts to the MK. I don't know this though, just wishful thinking I guess!

Just take a cab. Piece of cake.

Are they doing work to the beams or are the working on the monorails themselves. I wish the company would see the value of the monorails and how important they are to the Disney experience and just purchase new monorails. I am hoping a little that with ESPN starting to slip a little that maybe the parks will become more important again.

if you are really worried, cab it

Ok, now I'm nervous! My family has an ADR at Cinderella's Royal Table at 8:35 am on a Tues during this time period.....any ideas on the best way to get there on time/early? We will be staying at Shades of Green, across from the Poly, and had originally planned to take the monorail from there....now it sounds like the monorail won't be an option from there or from the TTC. We have never been to CRT and have two young girls. I'd really love to keep this ADR, but now I'm not sure it's worth the hassle, or if we can even make it:confused:! Thanks in advance for advise!!

Okay this spices up our trip! @wdwmagic , if we want to be at Epcot before 9am on a Monday, what are the transportation options? Will they offer a bus? Should we just drive? Or maybe we will just hop on at 9 and take the 15 minute loss.
