BoardWalk Inn lobby coffee shop construction - October 4 2022
Posted: Thursday October 6, 2022 9:43am ET by WDWMAGIC Staff

Work is now underway on the first of several updates coming to Disney's BoardWalk Inn lobby.

Dundy's Sundries is now closed and will soon become a new coffee shop. The new coffee bar will serve artisanal beverages and quick bites, available to-go or in newly refreshed seating spaces inside or outdoors.

Dundy's Sundries previously sold gifts and essentials, and is located just off the main lobby area.

Merchandise sold in Dundy's Sundries can be found at the Screendoor General Store outside the hotel on the boardwalk.

The current state, as seen from my balcony.

We're here now. When I told my husband it was supposed to open in 2023, he thought I was pulling his leg.

This thread reminds me of the BAH demolition thread, except the opposite. With the BAH, we all tuned in to see how much progress they made overnight. With the Cake Bake Shop, we all tune in to see how little progress they made in the last week.

Shouldn’t take too long if the theme is “white paint and some plants”.

I wonder if they’ve started on the inside at all.

I too was there yesterday. Maybe if they had as many workers as they did ladders this place would be finished already.

Just doing some digging…it doesn’t like like it’s completely a Disney issue. Her second locations opening date got moved too.

Visible progress?! 😮

Any update on the Bon voyage breakfast returning?

The photos don’t show any signs of corrosion. It is a fiberglass coated product. By being exposed it was also able to dry. Just goes to show that Disney isn’t alone in projects being dragged out.

Oh I'm more asking that because it's been sitting in Florida elements for like 7 months at this point, not that I thought that was permanent. Side note, I went back to see when I could first see the purple up in this thread. I saw the first announcements in March and laughed at it being over a year at this point for just a restaurant. Then, as I went looking for pictures, realized that was March 2022. I completely zoned out this is over 2 years now.
