Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge has made a few changes to its Night Safari offering, which takes guests on a tour of the savannas with night vision goggles

First, to help differentiate from the new nighttime safari coming to Disney's Animal Kingdom park, the Night Safari has been renamed to Starlight Safari.

Secondly, the Starlight Safari is now open to all guests, and not just those staying at Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge.

The hour long tour costs $70 plus tax, and is available for ages 8 and above. Reservations can be made by 407-WDW-TOUR.

I would imagine they will increase capacity with more vehicles.

This is the main thing that we are still undecided on for this year's trip. As we were staying at AKL, we thought that this would be the time to do it as we wouldn't necessarily be back to stay there, but we wanted to know the differences between the AK night-time safari, and the DAKL night-time safari However, opening it up is actually putting me off a bit, as, if anyone can do it, then we would be able to do it next time if we wanted. Has anyone actually done this and has a review? It's not something I can find a lot of information/pictures about online.

Great. Now we will have to book this at 180 days out as well.

I mean, the uniqueness will be way less with it opening at DAK.

Interesting that they are offering this to everyone. I'm not sure if it is always booked or not, but we were unable to get spots for this during our recent trip in October, because it was full most nights. I'm sure it will be even tougher now for resort guests to get it in, unless they expand the tour capacity.
