Disney names new Chief Digital and Technology Officer as the company expands its digital services

Gail Evans is joining the Walt Disney Company as the new Executive Vice President, Chief Digital and Technology Officer.

MagicBand+ is coming to Walt Disney World - further expanding the MyMagic+ offerings

Evans previously worked at the asset management firm Mercer as Chief Digital Officer, and prior to that held senior positions at Microsoft Studios, Hewlett Packard, and Bank of America.

As Disney's Chief Digital and Technology Officer, Gail will be based in Orlando and will report to Josh D'Amaro, Chairman, Disney Parks, Experiences and Products.

The appointment comes at a time when Disney is leaning more and more on digital solutions to increase revenue and expand its offerings. Recent examples of Disney's digital endeavors include the launch of Disney Genie+, which contributed to the domestic Disney Parks recording their highest revenue on record.

The Digital Assistant will be coming to Walt Disney World Resort hotels including the new Contemporary Resort rooms

Future digital platforms coming soon to Walt Disney World will include MagicBand+, the next generation of Disney's wearables, and Hey Disney, the personal assistant that will be part of the hotel experience and available at home.

I'm not hopeful anything will change. Luckily, I got our dining done this morning, but the website has been a dumpster fire ever since then and does nothing but circles back to the sign in page. :rolleyes:

How does magicband+ know it's on the right-arm vs left? Picture shows it on the right hand. Is the puck removable like the old ones? Maybe that's how they orient it...

hmmmm - any background with 1972 IBM Mainframes? 😅 . You can Web-Front-End virtually anything - but the whole system is still a Donkey with a Maserati paint job 😅 . Hope she's planning on building up (and testing) a whole new parallel system - so Disney can take gas & a match to the old one...
