Disney plans to keep all four Walt Disney World theme parks open tomorrow Wednesday, August 30, as Hurricane Idalia passes through Florida.

Hurricane Idalia remains off the west coast, and impacts in Central Florida are expected to be less severe. Forecasts call for wind speeds up to 40 mph, and up to 6 inches of rain in the theme park areas.

Should conditions change, Disney may have to modify its plan, with a delayed opening of the parks being the most likely outcome.

Disney's Typhoon Lagoon water park and all Walt Disney World mini-golf courses will be closed August 30, 2023.

Orlando International Airport has also said this evening that it plans to remain open, with flight operations varying based on conditions. Check with airlines for the latest changes to flights.

Walt Disney World Operating Hours August 30 2023

  • Disney's Animal Kingdom 9:00 AM to 7:00 PM
  • Disney's Hollywood Studios 9:00 AM to 9:00 PM
  • EPCOT 9:00 AM to 9:00 PM
  • Magic Kingdom 9:00 AM to 10:00 PM

Why do you have extremely dangerous in quotations?

JoeCamelAug 31, 2023

I always associated St. Elmos fire with ball lightning

St Elmo's Fire This rare weather phenomena was spotted in the sky as Florida's Gulf Coast braced for the "extremely dangerous" Hurricane Idalia.

It’s going to be a very nice evening. Credit due to Disney for handling this storm very well.
