A severe weather alert has been issued by the National Weather Service for much of Central Florida, including Orange and Osceola counties - home to Walt Disney World.

The Tornado Watch is in effect until 4pm December 15 2022. The forecast calls for Strong to Severe Storms with damaging wind gusts up to 60 mph, a tornado or two, small hail, and heavy rainfall (1-2"). Greatest chance across Lake, Volusia, Seminole, Orange, Osceola, and northern Brevard counties, increasing from north to south from late this morning into the afternoon.

A Tornado Watch means that tornadoes are possible in and near the watch area. Review and discuss your emergency plans and check supplies and your safe room. Be ready to act quickly if a warning is issued or you suspect a tornado is approaching. Watches are issued by the Storm Prediction Center for counties where tornadoes may occur.

The Walt Disney World theme parks are currently operating as normal.

Radar Scope Pro, excellent! 😀 My DarkSky app still thinks I’m at MK (I haven’t opened the app to update the location, 1200 Monorail Way is a cool address to get weather alerts from 😂), so I received the Tornado Watch alert earlier this morning. Too bad the app goes away after December 31…

I guess now is a good time to keep an eye out for mary poppins. I doubt anyone is gonna be singing in the rain. Maybe people can hang out in the lobby and play board games like twister. Well I guess I will be by tomorrow to see what has been blown away during all the hard rain.

Yeah...was supposed to go to Epcot for Candlelight tonight. Depending on how quickly this rolls through (I've seen some forecasts suggesting it'll be gone by 5:00, and other suggesting that's when we'll be in the thick of it), I may just stay home. The good news is this storm is bringing in MUCH cooler weather, and we are in for a lovely, cool, weekend!

Sitting outside at the Riveria eating breakfast and it’s all good so far. A little breezy and no rain but it is early. Stay safe.
