Work is nearing completion outside of the Tangierine Cafe on the new look courtyard at the Morocco Pavilion in EPCOT.

For the last couple of weeks, overnight work has seen a new style concrete pattern installed surrounding the fountain in the central courtyard.

The area should be finished by July 15, when the Tangierine Café will open as part of the Food and Wine Festival serving traditional Moroccan cuisine, like grilled kebabs and a falafel pita.

Since taking over the Morocco pavilion from the original third party operating participant, Disney has been carrying out a number of upgrades to the pavilion, including new decor and theming along the promenade, and a refurbishment of the pavilion's bathrooms.

I really enjoyed Spice Road Table. I haven’t been since Disney took over the pavilion, but from what I can see the menu looks really watered down now. There was a great selection of Moroccan food and we always enjoyed it.

I thought that for years, but because it was managed by a third party I guess that's one of the reasons why they never did, like a heroes meal with Aladdin and others. They certainly could do this now, but so far no signs of Disney wanting to operate it. such a shame.

I still think that could happen, if not with Aladdin, than other characters with a pre-plated family service menu. That feels like something Disney would do.

I loved going to Restaurant Marrakesh (pre Covid), and every time I was there it seemed busy.

Probaby why the main restaurant is still closed, which to my knowledge was never one of the more popular WS locations. And since that closed, two (three?!) more restaurants have been added to the park. It's disappointing its still closed, but again I'm not surprised.

The general under-appreciation of the Morocco Pavilion has always seemed such a shame. It is one of, if not the, nicest pavilion in terms of architecture and theming, and Moroccan food is great! On the latter point, though, they seem to have had trouble even filling the lagoon-side restaurant. Hopefully they can find a way to revive it that brings people in.

Perhaps a lot of rule followers, like me. But it doesn't seem to track area codes or zip codes. I read the guidelines the same way you do (FL residents only) but per Disney Food Blog it's "for anyone".

I am not sure that it was a case of people not knowing, but that the majority of visitors do not live in Florida so they were not able to access the lounge.

Great to have a spot to get out of the heat. Not many people knew about it last year. But I guess that doesn't bode so well for a replacement restaurant any time soon.
