Virtual queue for Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance continues to follow similar pattern

Dec 23, 2019 in "Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance"

The virtual queue Boarding Groups for Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance is continuing to follow a similar pattern from the past week.

Disney's Hollywood Studios continues to allow guests through the touch points around 30 minutes prior to the official opening time, with the virtual queue opening at 7am for guests inside the park.

Boarding Groups are reaching capacity within 45 minutes, and then switching to backup groups, which are then typically reaching capacity around 9:30am. Backup groups will be called if all of the standard boarding groups have been called and capacity remains available before closing. Today, groups 126 and above are designated as backup groups.

The best course of action to ensure access to Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance is to be at the park at least 30 minutes prior to the posted opening time, and to access My Disney Experience immediately after passing through the touch points.

Not sure if it was posted elsewhere but an interesting article about the Rise of the Resistance lottery. No surprises to anyone who follows this thread but it is nice to see it covered. https://www.yahoo.com/news/disney-world-rise-resistance-hopefuls-093700595.html

That is true, I just see no reason for them to tbh. However, when we look the overall data, specifically the average BGs called per hour, it is lower now than preclosure, which lends the idea that BG size may of never changed. If BG size was reduced, they would be called faster theoretically. But who knows really.

We don't know if the boarding group size has been reduced.

This is one of the biggest issues with the whole park reservation system (even though they don't really have any good alternatives, so I'm not blaming them for it). DHS isn't worth going to for more than one day without the ability to park hop; I personally don't think it's currently worth going to for even a single full day. It's a tough sell to have to potentially use a second full day at DHS just for the chance to ride RotR. If you don't get a boarding group on the second attempt, you've basically wasted an entire day.

This is my fear for our trip. Will you try to hit HS another day to try to get a boarding group?
