Q: Why can't vultures fly in coach? A: There's not enough room for their carrion bags.

So they update Star Tours but Smugglers Run, set in a new land they spent billions in, is still a single bring collect cargo cubes mission?

Star Tours is proud to announce daily nonstop service to new destinations in the coming months! No charge for carryon bags!

That's why you use Takodana instead. Have a rowdy group of pirates just leaving the bar at Maz's castle hassle the StarSpeeder.

If you want that experience, just fly through Batuu in the park.

MrConbonDec 25, 2019

To be fair Jakuu was just a barren desert before the battle between episodes 6 and 7 so you sorta need that planet to be set after unless you want to fly through absolutely nothing.

RobWDW1971Dec 23, 2019

Agree - it's a travel service so going to all of the various planets is genius - trying to put us "into the scene" on every single one is not.

I just watched the new ride scenes. They are really good! It was great seeing Lando! I also loved seeing C-3po recite Rex's line from the original Star Tours!

No, he's the dad in Carousel of Progress.

When I saw that scene I thought, Norm McDonald is playing Poe now?

doctornickDec 20, 2019

Meh, disagree. I like the idea of the ride featuring locations from all 9+ films. I don't see the reason to have characters from different eras which makes it disjointed. The queue is set up to be in the era of Episode IV - all the ride scenes should reflect that. The sequel trilogy planets existed in that timeframe, so no reason they can't be included as places to visit.

I can't believe they haven't pulled these sims and stuck them in the new boutique immersion experience. It's a natural segue from the "ship" to the planet.

Wish the itinerary was moving this to "Star Wars Land."

They’re really making a splash with the new scene.
