The classic Frontierland Shootin' Arcade at Magic Kingdom is now offering a free play mode.

The change began on October 1 as part of "The World's Most Magical Celebration," but it isn't clear how long it will remain free to play.

The arcade game previously cost $1 per play (35 shots) which had to be paid in quarters.

😂😂 cracks me up. after all the discussion about this old-time fave going away, The Mouse squashes the debate and carries on. wish they had done the same with the Adventurers Club. 🤪 Just gotta accept the fact that times change and stay positive. 😊

I was there last September and that half was closed then too and they didn’t tell us till we got to the island. Wouldn’t of gotten on the raft if they had said something first.

Was there a guy running around with a plastic prop axe?

ImperfectPixieOct 13, 2021

Did you read either of the articles posted in this thread about it? Because I didn't pull that explanation out of thin air.

No, the rumor was likely leaked by Disney to gauge how people felt, they got enough feedback telling them they better not take it away.

Animaniac93-98Oct 13, 2021

I wanted to go there last week, but that half of the Island was closed. :(

Yes it does

Maybe people shouldn't jump to conclusions so much.

Does the fort on Tom Sawyer island still have guns?

DCBakerOct 13, 2021

Seems like the author meant to type December - If you click through to the original article on Cinemablend, this is what was said "Recently it was discovered that the Walt Disney World website listed no operating hours for the attraction from November 27 through December 11, which is as far as the calendar lists operation."

UnbansheeOct 13, 2021

What does that even mean? "November 27 to October 11". That's not even the time period that was in question. It was after November 27th and the dates are backwards. We got to the same conclusion, but it seems like a typo or misunderstanding of the issue

Thanks for sharing, the good news 😍

No. More evidence to the contrary if you believe reports from official Disney sources that were reached out via theme park journalists. It is not going anywhere yet.

Thanks for the info. 74-77 lines up with when I was there. I wish my pops was still alive so I could confirm. Do we know for certain that this is going away?
