Construction is continuing in the Discovery River at Disney's Animal Kingdom for the upcoming Disney KiteTails show.

Work is wrapping up on decorating the platforms that will house the jetskis and props that will be used in the show.

Cast Members at Disney's Animal Kingdom will be able to attend previews on September 28 and 30. The previews will take place at sunrise before the park opens to guests.

The show will use oversized props and kites adorned with Disney animal friends from "The Little Mermaid," "a bug's life" and "Finding Nemo." Music will include original, worldbeat arrangements of favorite Disney tunes. Watercraft will pull massive 30ft long three-dimensional kites depicting familiar characters from "The Lion King" or "The Jungle Book," including Baloo, Zazu, Simba, King Louie, Timon and Pumbaa.

The show will officially debut on October 1 as part of The World's Most Magical Celebration at Walt Disney World. Showtimes will be 11:15am, 12:15pm, 1:15pm, 3:15pm, 4:15pm, and 5:15pm daily.

Agreed. I'm not sure someone could shoot worse video if they tried to

Feld presided over the death of the American circus and like Bell and Howell the name may be there but it's not the same company rather a brand being trotted out to make a buck unless you consider Disney on ice to be a first class production.

Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Cirque?

raymusiccity29 days ago

Au Contrair: "Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey is reviving its circus, unveiling a plan to bring back a modernized "Greatest Show on Earth" — one without its iconic elephants and other animals. Instead, its producers are scouring the world for people with rare talents and skills who can captivate today's audiences. The new circus will hit the road for a U.S. tour of live shows in September of 2023, according to Feld Entertainment, which produces the circus. The new show's goal, Feld said, is to "celebrate amazing talent from around the world, displaying incredible feats that push the limits of human potential and create jaw-dropping moments." Auditions for the new circus are already under way, in countries including Ethiopia, France, Mongolia, Argentina and the U.S., the company added." 🤗

Well maybe Feld can but Ringling is long gone.

What a waste of space. A shame to have spent so much effort building a beautiful amphitheater for a place holder kite show. I'll bet Field and Ringling can cone up with a more entertaining concept for this space. 😥

In addition to this the flotillas now happen in rapid fire succession, about three in a row pass through the amphitheater, Kitetails happens while they go through the rest of the park, and then the three flotillas return. Lather rinse repeat except they switch out the characters for the next run.

I do not think this looks at it quite right in that AK tends to open an hour earlier than Epcot or HS so isn't it really a wash?

Yes, it does get that cold in the land of oranges and the mouse. I went to work at DTD one late fall afternoon. It was 72 degrees. I left DTD at 0330 to 34 degrees. That was the longest, coldest 55 mile motorcycle ride in my life. I was somewhat lucky that I had my purple sweatshirt in one of my rear bags or I probably would have gotten frostbite.

It can get a little chilly, makes you think twice about the waterparks
