Disney has shared a first look inside the new Mickey & Friends character meet and greet location in EPCOT's World Celebration.

The character meet and greet will be located in CommuniCore Hall to replace the former Character Spot and opens to guests on June 10, 2024. Watch below to see the new set.

Whether they are quality attractions is up in the air. Will they fit where they are being placed or better than what they are replacing? In my book, absolutely not.

This is today’s Disney. This is why I am worried about the stuff being built in MK, DHS and AK. I hope I am worried for nothing and it all comes out ok.

if it were up to me id tear down the middle planter and all of comnicore hall and put a EpicUni style of fountain replacing that whole area with clear views of figment and pretty pathway have these things called LEDS that work. However at this rate I'll take what I can get. Ie I hope for a small fountain so I don't get to disappointed

Their "Admission" of said mistake was literally thrown together as quickly and half assedly as possible and it has now lasted longer than the original beloved attraction.

they did admit that Journey Into YOUR Imagination was a mistake eventually..... I am sure they are very aware of the overall lack of excitement about what they did to the central core.... but now it is "hey look over here! we are building something new!" instead of fixing a botched project....kind of like our current day politics....

We are never getting a fountain back. That would be Disney admitting their mistake, that's never gonna happen.

my want for them to just rip out the lights make it a plain walk way, and put a small fountain in the middle is extreme

Was there last week. All the strips were even with the walkway; nothing sticking up; nothing roped off. Still not working.

Guests are being told to just walk around it.

The new covers were materially different from the original installation. It obviously didn't help in any meaningful way, but it wasn't the exact same thing.
