Early work on CommuniCore Hall and CommuniCore Plaza continues at EPCOT and we have a look at the area in this quick update.

Ground work and laying utilities is mostly all we can see so far.

CommuniCore Hall, a multi-use facility, and CommuniCore Plaza, an outdoor event space, will bring the park’s international festivals to the center of EPCOT. CommuniCore Plaza will have the flexibility to host intimate musical performances that extend out into the nearby gardens.

CommuniCore Hall will be a flexible exhibition and gallery space, offering a wide variety of experiences that highlight art, live music, food – complete with a demonstration kitchen – and more.

Disney says that the new CommuniCore Hall is "inspired by the original EPCOT aesthetic apparent throughout the park’s transformation, including the timeless triangular geometry most prominently featured in Spaceship Earth."

I am aware of that risk, especially these days.

I would expect it will look very different when SSE gets it's rumored big refurbishment.

Don't give them any ideas or they'll turn it into a gift shop

Does Project Tomorrow really serve any function anymore? then again, the park does have enough wasted space as it is.

When Flower and Garden was being prepared, i remember that they had to cover entire beds of flowers to try and protect them. Any of the tropical plants were at high risk (just look at what happened at the Polynesian).

Yes, that is most likely the case. Even the brand new palm trees they installed last year flanking the front of SSE are completely trimmed and somewhat dead looking.

I wonder if some of the bushes they removed were ones that froze over the winter? Central Florida did get significant freezing days this past winter?

tparrisApr 16, 2026

They also seem to have removed a tree/bushes that were in this planter previously.

tparrisApr 16, 2026

They removed all trees from both Project Tomorrow exits, and they’re now starting to redo the panels there.
