Executive producer George Lucas and director Francis Ford Coppola changed the world when they released Captain EO in 1986. A revolutionary filming process using twin 70mm polarizing projectors and special in-theater effects made it the most expensive film per minute ever produced at the time, costing an estimated $30 million
After a 4 month break for extended movie previews, Captain EO is returning to Epcot's Future World.
Another movie preview will be taking up home in the Imagination Pavilion's theater - no more Captain EO?
Does the arrival of a 'Tomorrowland' preview mean the end of Captain EO?
This was one of the most bizarre things that I have ever seen in my life!! I cannot believe that something like this is at Disney World, and cannot believe that they consider this an attraction!! Horrible acting, creepy characters, and not sure what the plot was, if there was one. Very disappointing and the absolute worst thing at Disney World by far!!!
Its definitely a blast to the past and very cheese but I love it. Go Michael!!
So the fast pass chose this for us (which is totally pointless as everyone gets in) and nowhere during the wait did it say that this show would include the aledged pedophile and 80s pop hero. Had we known, we would have given the show a very wide birth. Including wait, It's a whole 45 minutes of my life I'll never get back. Like Saville, Rolf and your other childhood heroes, avoid unles you have been groomed to still believe the magic. Sorry Disney, this show really wasn't cool.
The worst thing I have ever seen at Disney. What are you thinking awful awful awful. The only thing that was ok was the the hit song. Disney get your act together. You need to replace this with something else. You don't sit crap like this a universal !!!!!
Captain EO returned to Epcot with an official reopening on July 2 2010 for a limited run expected to be around 1 year. Captain EO reopened in place of 'Honey I Shrunk the Audience'. Announcement
