The bus stop at Downtown Disney Marketplace will be operating at reduced hours from today until late May 2014.

The Marketplace stop will operate from noon to midnight, with the alternative Pleasure Island bus stop operating from 8am to 2am.

It's open Noon-midnight. That's late enough without any need for pandemonium.

@Killnme and have a mess for three years instead of one?

Since the new bus stop facility is going kinda where the PI stops are now (though closer to the road, I think), I'd presume that for some stretch of the construction the Marketplace stop might be the only one in service, which would require access for the articulated buses. (Maybe they'll re-open the West Side stops during that period). The new location of the Marketplace boat dock will also make it easier to get off a bus and hop onto a water shuttle right there. -Rob

How about finish one big project to open up parking again and then do the bus loop.

January is when the permits expire, i believe.... for the parking deck anyway, and there is still another to go and a widening of the BLVD, and the direct in from the highway....

Any time table as to when the parking lots/garage and bus loops will be finished? It will be a nightmare this July if it is still all in total construction mode.

Well, I suppose they could have placed them across Buena Vista Drive between the Casting Center and Team Disney. Regardless, yes, there will have to be accommodations until the work is finished.

So now when we go early we start PI and work our way back to Market Place instead of the other way around. No big deal here.

you dont live around construction do you? where exactly are they supposed to build the adjacent parking decks? in the lake?

ToTBellHopApr 28, 2014

 They are rebuilding pretty much all of DTD. It's going to require some accommodations on our part. The alternative was to close the entire area but good luck keeping any merchants doing that.

KillnmeApr 28, 2014

Here is a brilliant idea let's close the biggest part of the parking lot to build parking garages, while at the same time shorting the bus hours. Sounds like great business to me. Oh and let's raise all the prices at DTD while we are at it.

Really? Thought this bus stop was going away and there was going to be a new, centralized bus stop closer to the current Pleasure Island?

dstrawn9889Apr 28, 2014

have to widen the roundabouts to accommodate the articulateds, and to allow for better flow (easier in/out for the drivers). that was alengthy conversation i had with a trtanspotation CM, while waiting on All Star. so--- grain of salt if you wish

CDavidApr 28, 2014

What kind of work are they doing which requires partially closing the Marketplace bus facility?
