Curl by Sammy Duvall to close at Disney Springs

Curl by Sammy Duvall at Disney Springs will have its final day of operation on August 15 2019.

The surf apparel store was originally located in Pleasure Island, but closed in June 2013and move to the West Side as part of the redevelopment of Downtown Disney to Disney Springs.

Disney Springs will soon have a new surf apparel store with the opening of Ron Jon Surf Shop in the Town Center.

Wonder if Ron Jon contractually required this closure. I know many stores insist on clauses such as being the only grocery or only pet store etc in a plaza

I'm sure that people will chime in, but, the Lease was probably due, foot traffic isn't supporting a 'wait and see' atmosphere for anyone to run a business. If the NBA Experience and Cirque replacement actually pan out, then you'll see worthwhile tenants returning.

I am disappointed. My wife and I usually purchased something there on our visits. I am shocked they didn't try to stay given the NBA experience is open and the new Cirque du Soleil will be in a few months. The west side should improve in the coming months.

That's too bad. Curl was the only store my teenage grandsons wanted to visit, and spend money at!
