Disney still to announce an extension to park closures as 'Stay at Home' orders come into effect

Mar 27, 2020 in "The Walt Disney Company"

'Stay at Home' orders to control coronavirus are now in effect for both Orange and Osceola counties, covering all of Walt Disney World's property.

In a memo to Cast Members, Disney is still expecting essential function Cast Members to continue to go to work during the 'Stay at Home' period, including Animal Care and Security Cast Members.

The company is yet to make any further comment on extending the closure of its theme park and resorts hotels, with just a few days remaining until the end of the announced closure period on March 31.

The county 'Stay at Home' orders are in effect until April 9, which means we can expect a closure to remain in effect until at least then, and likely beyond.

Tokyo Disney Resort has this morning announced an extension to its planned closure, taking it to an April 20 planned reopening. Universal Studios Orlando has announced a closure through to April 19 2020.
