Disney has updated its online ticketing system to allow existing Passholders to upgrade their Walt Disney World Annual Pass online.
In 'My Disney Experience, ' a new 'Upgrade Pass' button is available in the ticketing section, with the option to upgrade a pass. The Manage Annual Passes area is also available on the Walt Disney World website.
According to Disney, "Existing Walt Disney World Annual Passholders have the option to upgrade their Annual Pass into any available pass type outside of their renewal window on our website or via the My Disney Experience app. The difference in price must be paid in full at the time of the upgrade and the new pass will have the same expiration date as the original pass."
Along with being able to upgrade the pass type, the new Manage Annual Passes system allows Passholders to add PhotoPass and Water Park options.

Walt Disney World Annual Passes were previously only able to be upgraded via phone or in person at guest relations.
Disney resumed sales of all of its Walt Disney World Annual Pass tickets on April 20, 2023. Disney notes that passes may not always be available and that sales, and presumably upgrades, may be paused at any time.
