Disney Genie+ at Walt Disney World has increased in price today to $35 per person, a new record high and a $6 increase over the previous record high of $29.

The price increase comes as Magic Kingdom opens its latest ride, TRON Lightcycle Run. TRON is not included in Genie+ and is only available via n Attraction Purchase at $20.

The ride reservation service was launched at $15 until Disney introduced a variable pricing model for Genie+ towards the end of 2022. Now guests only know the price of Genie+ on the day of their park visit.

Disney Genie+ is a purchase option within the Disney Genie service that makes the former FastPass line available at select attractions, now called Lightning Lane. Certain headline attractions are not part of Genie+, and Lightning Lane access at those attractions requires an Individual Attraction purchase which varies in price.

I think it only looks inferior because you have to pay for it, but we can disagree on that. The one thing you can count on though is that you'll still be looking at your phones all day to get around the park easily and manage the passes you do have.

I recently renewed our families APs(I know what a sucker) and was once again told in early 2024 pre-booking would be made available. I am sure the nice young lady who was helping had no other information than I do, but they are telling the customers it is coming still. But this is the only reason we renewed. Every experience we have had with G+ has been terrible. Between being tied to our phones the entire day, the mad dash to get a ILL, VQ, and my first G+ selection at the same time, and the ridiculous amount of timeouts the app gives us, I don’t understand how/why normal people pay for this. Paying more for a far inferior product is not what most people want or expect.

Thats not the Express Pass model......That the Express price gouge model

We already have the express pass model. It’s called VIP tours, and it’s priced quite high.

As much as i hate to admit this but we just got back and i was very satisfied with the Genie+ rides i was able to get the 4 days i used it. 2 of the days park hopping as well.

Ideally it should, but not enough capacity in terms of attractions to make that happen

I like the express pass model. Price it high and limit sales to make it worth it But that’s not happening either

Part of me wishes Genie+ would go away in favor of an entirely ILL a la carte experience. It would probably be more expensive but it would drastically reduce planning and unnecessarily complexity. ...but I think I'm in the minority.

Agree........and this wouldn't really change anything as far as ride availability for everyone else.....I think allowing to pick return times will spread the inventory out and might actually HELP the 7am rush since not everybody will be getting "first available" right at 7am b a lot will pick later return times

While it would be nice to have re-rides I don't see how they can do it. There just isn't enough capacity for that to happen. Let resort guests book 1 ahead of time so they can stop whining about 7am wake up. Leave the rest as is. They need to stop making visiting the parks complicated. Personally I wish they would make everything standby and put the top 2 attractions in each park as LL.

AK is really tough (I mean, none are ideal) - sucks to make the Safari, the key attra tion in the park, hard to get on. That is one part hat hasn't seen any new rides since they last had tiers (in the past it was FoP and Navi as the two tier 1s)

Ha....Ok....We can all get along here.......I think #1 is the way to go but maybe add 2 max ILL purchases (in case of park hopping) so then resort guests will have 2-3 rides pre booked This doesnt take all the time slots up for the day guests and solves the early riser problem

For once, I agree with you that I would much rather have #1. Unfortunately, I'm not in charge. Also please let me LL a ride more than once in a day (re-rides)

Would you rather: 1) Have no Tiers and book your first ride only in place of the 7am current rule and then have the 120 min/expire/use the LL before you book another OR 2) Have Tiers and book 1 Tier 1 ride and 2 Tier 2 rides BUT have to use all 3 before booking another ride?
