Walt Disney World has confirmed today that the Disney Dining Plan will be returning in 2024.

Disney dining plans will be coming back as an option for those staying at Disney Resort hotels who purchase a vacation package starting with stays beginning Jan. 9, 2024, which will open for bookings on May 31 2023.

Guests will be able to choose from two popular options: Packages that include either the Disney Quick Service Dining Plan or the Disney Dining Plan.

In a post on the official Disney Parks Blog, Disney said, "We know our guests – and families in particular – have missed dining plans, which offer guests the convenience and peace of mind of pre-paying for their meals and snacks. "

Pricing and participating restaurants will be announced at a later date.

2024 Disney Dining Plan Highlights

Everyone in the travel party (ages 3 and up) will receive 1 Table-Service meal per night, 1 Quick-Service meal per night and 1 snack/nonalcoholic drink per night of their package stay*—along with 1 Resort-refillable drink mug**. Meals and snacks can be redeemed at any time during the stay.

For example, if you book a 4-night package with a Disney Dining Plan, each Guest (ages 3 and up) in your party would receive 4 Table-Service meals, 4 Quick-Service meals and 4 snacks or nonalcoholic beverages—which can be used at any time during your 4-night stay.

Important Information

  • Beverages are included with each meal. Guests under 21 years of age may choose from a variety of nonalcoholic beverages. Guests 21 and older with valid identification may substitute for beer, wine and cocktails.
  • Reservations at Table-Service restaurants are highly recommended and are subject to availability.
  • Guests ages 3 to 9 must order from a children’s menu, where available.
  • Plan must be purchased for entire length of stay and for the entire party (ages 3 and up).
  • Meals are nontransferable between party members and expire at midnight on day of checkout.

* Specific number of meals and snacks are determined by the number of nights included in the package stay. Meals and snacks can be redeemed at any time during your stay. Unused meals and snacks will roll over day to day and expire at midnight on day of checkout. Meals and snacks are nontransferable between party members.

** Resort-refillable mugs are eligible for refills from self-service beverage islands at any Disney Resort hotel Quick-Service location.

Why not QS plan which includes a 10 - 20% discount on TS meals. Match the AP discount

Tables in Wonderland? Please… Maybe… Someday….

My wife who doesn't drink and is a vegetarian wasn't happy with most restaurants but her favorite was Ohana breakfast and Yak and Yeti. Uut of the 7-8ish sit downs we did, she would do those again. We did: Ohana (breakfast), Boma (breakfast), Chef du France, CRT, Yak and Yeti, San Angel, Topolinos (dinner)

The honor system doesn't always work. Guests who don't drink adult beverages, are vegetarians or are young " adults" don't do well

Do we think the free kids DDP will carry on through 2027?

easyrowrdwSep 03, 2025

It depends what your child’s birthday is in the Disney profile

TheMaxReboSep 03, 2025

yeah, the dining plan - and also any dining location with a prefixe price - is really a struggle with you have kids that are "Disney Adults" (and I currently have 3 of them - it really factors into where we eat)

TheMaxReboSep 03, 2025

yeah, just "Disney kids" - so ages 3-9

I assume that won't count when my child is 10 years old and is classed as an adult?

For 2026, all stays onsite allow kids to get a free dining plan. Everyone in the room / villa must have the dining plan to qualify though. But not for December 2025.

The newer options for the UK are: Value: one QS meal per day. Moderate: free QS plan. Deluxe: free regular plan. So they’ve eliminated the previous issue of free breakfast per day, which was the only difference we had.

It wasn't an outright lie. Guests on the internet, and presumably on Disney surveys, said the included tip resulted in poor service. I'm sure those Guests were expecting a large price reduction in the DDP. My memory is Disney was paying servers 15% instead of 18%. The % wasn't applied to the actual menu pricing. I only remember rounded numbers. The first year the cost for DDP was around $50, I think a little less. A couple of times I was near the register while my bill was being processed. This was at non Disney restaurants. QS at CSR and TS at Chefs de France. A variable discount was applied. TS meal was discounted down to little over $30 and the tip was around $4.50. QS meals were around $10. I don't think I saw the snack. Two snacks around $2 to $3 seemed right. The original snack was a drink, pretzel and.pop corn.

For 2026 they are doing kids get the dining plan free with paying adults - maybe you are thinking of that

alexdisneyAug 21, 2025

I could have sworn earlier this year they had some kind of kids eat free deal but maybe I am misremembering
