Today, Disney shared the very first details about its next Disney Cruise Line ship, the Disney Destiny.

The Disney Destiny, sister to the Disney Wish and Disney Treasure, will have a first-of-its-kind design theme, "Heroes and Villains," drawing on the legacies of beloved Disney stories, characters, and theme park attractions.

The Disney Cruise Line and Walt Disney Imagineering teams were inspired by the dynamic duality of every great Disney story when developing this new ship, where opposing forces of light and dark drive characters to rise to their purpose.

Onboard, guests will encounter heroes and villains alike – including those from beloved Walt Disney Animation stories like "The Lion King," "Hercules" and "One Hundred and One Dalmatians" – within spaces, experiences and entertainment throughout their voyage.

Minnie Mouse embodies the spirit of the Disney Destiny in this brand-new filigree artwork for the bow of the ship, continuing a beloved Disney Cruise Line design tradition. Donning a heroic new ensemble – cape and all! – and a valiant pose, she will boldly lead guests on epic cruise vacations.

The Disney Destiny also reached a new construction milestone today with the keel laying ceremony at the Meyer Werft shipyard in Papenburg, Germany, which is a maritime tradition designed to bestow good luck upon the ship.

The ship is scheduled for delivery in 2025 as part of a multi-year expansion of the Disney Cruise Line fleet that includes the Disney Wish and Disney Treasure, the Disney Adventure that will homeport in Singapore, and the new island destination in The Bahamas, Disney Lookout Cay at Lighthouse Point.

My favorite spot on a Disney ship is Deck 10 on the Magic and Wonder. I love that you can do a complete lap of the ship, entirely outdoors, without going up or down stairs, and without crossing into adults-only areas so you can do it with kids. It's the same lap as Deck 4 but completely open.

Heyy!!! 😤 Maybe she's got some catching up to do? They're basically the same ship. Though I love the Dream, the Fantasy gets the edge on the adult area. Ooh La La > Pink The Tube > Evolution (by a long shot) O'Gills < The original on the Magic (by a long shot) La Piazza = in a class by itself The mosaic bathrooms are totally awesome and are tied with the totally awesome Dream atrium chandelier for artistic quality. I can't swim, so if the pools etc are better, I wouldn't know. The only Disney ship where I felt disconnected from.the outdoors is the Wish. It was actually difficult to.find the doors.to the outdoor.decks, and then when I did, woops, stairs. No laps.for.me on the Wish. On the Dream and the Magic (the ships I've sailed.most), I would.do two.miles on Deck 4 every morning (and Deck 4 is plenty outdoors, with the added bonus of seeing the guts of the ship on the Magic or Wonder!). No.such luck.on the Wish. Half the doors to the deck have no glass, so you don't even realize they lead outdoors, and my knees don't like a lot of stairs interrupting my laps. And the "walking track" is broken over not two, but three decks!! Wish was one and done for me. No interest in the Treasure, and now sadly the Destiny (Density--can't help.it)

After the recent itinerary release, it looks like the Destiny will be sailing out of Fort Lauderdale to the Caribbean. Dream will be returning to Europe in 2026 leaving a gap at the Fort Lauderdale home port. Dream will also stop doing Caribbean cruises (switching to only Bahamian) around November 2025 leading me to believe that Destiny will be delivered around November/December 2025.

We did put an Alaskan out for May 2025 on the Celebrity Edge and this one seems to be getting a lot of traction Pam

Thanks. I tend to hear a smaller comment more than I hear the age. I cruise alot. On Disney alone I have been on 24 cruise totally 127 nights. But I am also very experienced with Royal, Carnival and NCL. I'm surprised You haven't heard comments about the ship being smaller because by today's standards it absolutely is. I personally do not hear too much about it looking aged. Compared to a non-disney ship of its age I believe it's doing very very well. Just have different experiences. Both are experiences vary. Neither is wrong.

Yep - I am on the same page. Love the overall

We plan to. Much to the internet's chagrin, we booked on the new NCL Prima Class ship Aqua for our next cruise. We booked the Haven. It's not even done being built yet. I know those ships get (some, also see a lot of great) bad reviews for crowded venues, but we aren't go to shows people, we are got to dinner then just sit at an outside bar (or on deck) with drinks people. We absolutely love the look of the news ships, so bit the bullet and are trying it out. But we also do want to do Celebrity after that.

Ah, I agree with that totally. It's definitely a drawback, and I'm curious as to why it hasn't been addressed if there has been some consistent feedback about it. Either way, I would also not consider it a hard 'No' and still want to try out NCL.

I have a few groups set up for next year with both Royal and Celebrity. Will most likely be adding an Alaskan on the Celebrity Edge as well. Pam
