Disney is set to announce its holiday offerings for Walt Disney World next week as part of its annual "Halfway to the Holidays" celebration online.

In a post on the official Disney Parks Blog, the company said, "From June 13 through 15, celebrate #HalfwaytotheHolidays with us on the Disney Parks Blog as we give you a taste of the season with announcements, sneak peeks, special treats, and of course holiday fun."

We expect to hear Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party dates, plans for Holidays Around the World at EPCOT, and details of a couple of surprise additions for this year.

If you are looking to celebrate the holidays this June, head to Gasparilla Island Grill at Grand Floridan Resort June 13 through 15 for some holiday treats.

  • Brownie Tree Pop: Returning from the annual Grand Floridian Resort & Spa Gingerbread House, a chocolate brownie dipped in white chocolate with rainbow sprinkles
  • Gingersnap Cookie: Returning from the annual Grand Floridian Resort & Spa Gingerbread House, a traditional gingersnap cookie topped with candied ginger

Not sure if this is worth mentioning but apparently they are hiring a lighting designer for seasonal shows…. 🤔 Maybe this isn’t specific to the holidays though. If so I wonder what it could be for? https://jobs.disneycareers.com/job/kissimmee/lighting-designer/391/50835852496

I don’t know, I’ve just heard it from a few of the older long-time CMs at Contemporary. They’re pretty proud of it! It’s also the largest WDW tree, which is pretty cool. All I could find online is that the original MK was a natural 50-foot tree from a forest in Paradise, Michigan.

Be glad we still get any at all, meanwhile Epcot gets nothing but their one tree and I think its far worse than MK's.

I didn't know that! How long was it in MK?

Is it true that the Speedway isn't getting a holiday overlay this year? What a shame!!! It looked so cool/retro in the videos. Obviously they already have all the props/decorations. It was mostly lights, why on earth can't they have it again?

The only one that looks that tired IMO is the one at Contemporary. Which makes sense, as it was the old MK tree.

Guessing we’re still getting the same ancient Christmas trees?

I say we compromise. I personally found the lights distasteful during the day, and the long period with the crane not ideal. They should install lights on the roofs, much like Disneyland Paris has right now, it's stunning at night, and I didn't really notice it all during the day. Pair those lights with projection effects, bingo, bongo, gorgeous Christmas Castle!
