The 'Peace on Earth' finale to Epcot's Reflections of Earth has a new look and sound this year.

The familiar voice of Walter Cronkite narrating the finale has been removed, and in his place comes Mary Thompson Hunt, who's voice has been heard all over Walt Disney World in the past. Mary was a performer at the Comedy Warehouse, and also voiced the original pre-show announcements for Reflections of Earth when the show debuted.

Also debuting with the new Peace on Earth finale are new more colorful lasers, installed both in the 3 pavilion laser locations at Mexico, Canada and the American Adventure, and an all new location on the island in the lagoon. Replacing the previous mirror bouncers, the island laser gives a much brighter laser effect in the center of the lagoon.

Completing the changes is a new pyrotechnic design for the finale. The monstrous barrage of fireworks is still there, but the new design takes on a more intricate approach and looks fantastic.

You can see the new show playing daily at Epcot as part of Holidays Around the World through until December 30 2014. Also be sure to check out our video of the whole show, including the new Peace on Earth finale below.

Why is it that whenever I see you type the word "balance" I feel the need to have a movie marathon?

Master YodaOct 03, 2016

So balance, but a different kind of balance.;)

Well they added a ton of new lighting over at MK, so maybe they should take advantage of the buy 2, get 1 free lighting event at Home Depot.

Morocco is for religious beliefs. Norway is because the pavilion wasn't complete when the lighting package was overhauled in 1987/8. And it's not been added in 29 years.

JeffxzOct 01, 2016

Yes, I believe it is at Morocco's request for religious reasons.

I know they don't have lights running the buildings but I'm not sure about it being that dark

monothingieOct 01, 2016

Has Moroco always been dark during illuminations?

And a BIG announcement about it on the 35th? With a ROE 35th tag, Please?

Could be a Summer 2018 debut, which makes sense for a number of reasons (planning/construction timeline, crowds, marketing).

yensidtlaw1969Sep 22, 2016

So, using my math-ish skills . . . Fall 2018/Spring 2019? Those sound like the only way for ROE to play in March 2018 but have the new show "way before" WDW's 50th.

marni1971Sep 22, 2016

WDWs 50th? This would happen way before.

JWGSep 22, 2016

This sounds like a shiny new thing for MK's 50th.

jrhwdwSep 22, 2016

Well, that sounds like a long clock. Maybe they want to work on MK first: some replacement for MSEP or Wishes to bring people in before they work on Epcot? Or is that just wishful thinking?

JWGSep 21, 2016

Haha, so did I.
