Making their debut this year at the EPCOT International Flower and Garden Festival, topiaries of Mirabel, Antonio, Isabela, and Luisa from Disney Animation's Academy Award-winning "Encanto" greet guests at the main entrance.

Each topiary features details inspired by each character, including Isabela creating flowers between her hands and an illuminated butterfly for Mirabel.

The Isabela topiary is one of the first EPCOT displays to be made of succulent plants.

The 2023 EPCOT International Flower & Garden Festival begins March 1 and continues through July 5, 2023.

These are made of a type of material that literally becomes untouchable in warmer temperatures.

Festivals are constant now with only one week in between a festival switchover in which there is no festival. I would like to see Arts go longer since I think that Garden starts too early with hardly a small portion of their flowers in bloom. (And... I like Garden the best.) Garden and Holiday can each steal a few weeks from Wine at the beginning and end, since that's the one that's just way too long. MK's holiday decorations go up Nov 2. No reason why EPCOT has to wait to the 8th, 11th, or Thanksgiving to start the food portion of the Holiday festival.

wrong, Arts is a perfect length, holiday is too short, leaving only F&G and especially F&W as too long.

Truth!

This year it feels like something is a miss with this festival. first its too long (as all these festivals are) and there is a lot of dead space i think due to the center construction. got rid of a couple Kiosks by test track and by the butterfly pavillion (which had lots of them this year). I guess they're trying to get back into sync with all the exchange workers coming back. Watching Hermans Hermits was fun, cant believe the Peter Noone still gets it done like he does!! im sorry im being a little bit of a downer but i just felt like this festival was missing something and felt disjointed. F&G is one of my favorite as i like seeing all the flowers and such.

Problem is most times they put these right in the hot sun so a lot of people still end up using a garbage can in the shade!

Not anymore. They're in the central areas near all the food booths. About time.

Seriously?! 🤫

World Showcase had picnic tables for years. Not many. In isolated areas. Besides, all the cool kioskians grab their food and run to Morocco's secret covered patio and eat at tables.

Apparently the jokes about the garbage cans becoming picnic tables became too much for Disney as they finally installed actual picnic tables. Here are two not used (in the bright sun currently).

Real-talk: it’s because they run their spring festival well into 90-degree weather season nowadays, and the flowers look pretty ratty by July. Succulents can handle that weather better.

yep, many succulents used this year. Here is another example:
