On November 2, 2023, a virtual queue will open for the runDisney Merchandise Shop at ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex as part of the 2023 Wine & Dine Half Marathon Weekend.

Attendees looking to purchase event weekend merchandise on the first day of the Expo will be asked to join a virtual queue.

How to Join the Virtual Queue

In order to use the virtual queue on day one of the runDisney Health & Fitness Expo, you’ll need to download the My Disney Experience app and ensure location services are turned on.

  • Step 1: Open the My Disney Experience app and navigate to the Virtual Queue section on the home screen.

  • Step 2: Select “Join Virtual Queue” on the My Queues screen and then select “runDisney Merchandise Shop.” Guests can request to join the virtual queue at 8:30 AM Eastern Time on November 2, 2023.

  • Step 3: Select the number of Guests (up to 6 people total) in your shopping party. Select “Join Virtual Queue” once more. Note: All members of your shopping party must be added to your My Disney Experience Friends & Family list prior to joining the virtual queue.

  • Step 4: If there are open spots in the virtual queue, you’ll see a confirmation screen with both a QR code and an estimated wait time. Your estimated wait time will be based on the Expo opening time of 10:00 AM Eastern Time.

  • Step 5: You’ll receive a push notification directly to your mobile device when your group is ready to return. This push notification will also present you with a link to your digital entry code. Once received, you will have one hour to arrive at the AdventHealth Arena at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex.

  • Step 6: Upon your arrival, follow the signs to the check-in area and prepare to show the Cast Member your digital entry code, MagicBand, MagicBand+ or Disney MagicMobile pass.

Important Information

  • Gold and Platinum Club runDisney Members do not need to join the virtual queue to access their early shopping windows during the first day of the Expo.
  • Guests can join the virtual queue from their hotel room or home, up to approximately 45 miles away from Walt Disney World Resort.
  • Each Guest enrolled will receive a digital entry code to present for entry. If you are unable to find your digital entry code, you can locate it by going to the 3-line hamburger icon in the app (?) and selecting “Virtual Queues.” From here, you will be able to access your digital entry code.
  • The virtual queue is only needed for the runDisney Merchandise Shop on Thursday, November 2, 2023.
  • Merchandise is subject to availability and inventory may sell out.

A new reason why only 1% of the population have run a marathon. :)

Rteetz29 days ago

Most charities require much more than that for Boston now. Charity I ran Chicago with requires a $12,000 minimum.

I understand exactly what you mean. I live in the Northeast and have always wanted to run the Boston Marathon. I am not quite fast enough to qualify. You can get a charity bib. They go for about $7,500. I see the charity bibs as a way to get into a race but a Disney registration is pretty high already, add the donations you need to get for the charity bib can make it too expensive. That is probably why not everyone is a RunDisney Club member.

I don't think you need a huge social media presence. You start out with family and friends. Any little bit helps, $10, $25, etc. I would also suggest you put the amount the bib would have cost you anyways towards the fundraising. Lots of people will do Super Bowl pools or sponsor a mile type options too to raise money.

I had tried to sign up for the 2024 marathon. I was in the que for over an hour and all of the races sold out before I got through. All four races and the challenges.

It's great! But my question is, how do you secure the money to pay for the bib? I am only a HS teacher, I do not have a large social media platform or excess monies. As much as I want to run, I do not want to pay $1000 to run. How do you generate others to pay for the charity bib? I feel and see tnhat charities work for the social media darling, but how does it work for the normal person?

Hasn’t been posted yet, but this org will drop charity bibs soon. https://www.bravelikegabe.org/get-involved

It is! I thought this would be an easier race to sign up for compared to, say, 2024 Disneyland Half Marathon.

Wow, given all of these accounts, for once I just got lucky registering for a RunDisney race. I did do a small video, I need to figure out how to edit. I start it off with a shot of my computer stating, "I think this is the hardest part of any RunDisney race."

As of 11:51 EST, No Kid Hungry has 10k and Half bibs. I’ll be running with them for the challenge. https://p2p.onecause.com/2026winedine

And based upon the language that Disney used: If you enter the waiting room early, you will be randomly assigned a place at 10am. All who enter after 10am, will be first come first served AFTER the waiting room folk. Which SHOULD mean, that absolutely nobody who signed in at 10a or after should have been able to register because I, who was in the waiting room, was unable to register. However, there are many cases of people who logged in after 10 who were able to register. So none of it makes any sense based off of Disney's own posted rules.

The waiting room was open over an hour before registration time. No matter what time you enter the waiting room tho the queue is random and is assigned when registration actually opens at roughly 10AM ET.

Thanks for the tip, @Demarke I am bitter towards them right now, as an OG runner since 2007. But I am allowed.

The pre-queue opened earlier than normal (usually it has opened at 9:45am), I joined it around 9:30am give or take a couple minutes and had the same results as the others here that didn't get through until everything was completely sold out (fortunately, I snagged a charity challenge bib, $600 more than regular registration, but at least it's for a good cause :)). I don't know how you saw the screen with the individual races (unless you had the URL for that and went directly there), the main page (rundisney.com) was completely dedicated to funneling people into the pre-queue waiting area when I pulled it up and it told you to come back later if you were looking for anything other than W&D registration. Also different (I think), in the past, all browsers seemed to refresh pretty much simultaneously right at 10:00am and you'd soon see how long the wait times were for each. This time, I noticed the clock hit 10:00am and none of mine auto refreshed for 5-10 seconds (seemed longer), then one refreshed into the main queue, then a second or two later another, then a few seconds later another and so on. In the midst of this, I manually refreshed one window that hadn't auto refreshed and it immediately changed to the main-queue screen. This makes me think that it may be worthwhile to start furiously clicking the mouse to manually refresh one browser shortly before 10:00am until it lets you in. If it's slowly randomly auto-refreshing browsers to assign spots in the main-queue, that may help get an earlier slot in the future (and if it doesn't you can still have a few others open the regular way).
