Schussler Creative has today announced that it will be bringing a new restaurant concept to 'The Landing' district of Disney Springs in the Spring of 2015.

The BOATHOUSE will be an upscale, waterfront dining experience featuring spectacular floating artwork: dream boats from the 30’s, 40’s & 50’s.

The restaurant will feature three separate bars, The Captain’s Raw Bar, The Admiral’s Club Bar and The Dock Bar. Also part of the restaurant's nautically-themed rooms will be The Runabout, Twin Transoms, and The Lake House. There will also be two private dining rooms for special events, conventions and presentations: The Regatta and The Trophy Room.

The gourmet menu will be served daily until 2am, including menu items such as steaks, chops, seafood and a raw bar. The BOATHOUSE restaurant will be managed by internationally renowned and award-winning Gibsons Restaurant Group  (recently named Best Steak House in Chicago).

The experience will also include live music, and water cruises - ranging from the upscale guided tour aboard the 40ft wooden Italian Water Taxi, The Venezia, to the 20 minute guided tours onboard the Amphicars. The Harbor Master will orchestrate daily flag ceremonies, accompanied by a lively musical performance of beloved bugle songs, performed aboard a classic 1800’s antique steam boat.

“Combining dining with interactive entertainment, The BOATHOUSE helps bring to life our vision of Disney Springs as a welcoming place for guests of all ages to enjoy with their friends and family amid the charm of a waterfront town center,” said George A. Kalogridis, president, Walt Disney World Resort.

“We are very excited that The BOATHOUSE is joining the Walt Disney World family at Disney Springs,” said creator Steven Schussler. “We are proud to bring the culinary expertise and impeccable service of Gibsons Restaurant Group to The BOATHOUSE. The outstanding cuisine, the excitement of Amphicars, the Italian Water Taxi, and live music will make The BOATHOUSE a must-see destination for Walt Disney World guests from all around the world. Walt Disney Imagineering has created a wonderful, interactive, culinary and entertainment experience at Disney Springs. We are proud to be part of this magical experience.”

A WDWtraveler post without pics? Gasp!

Update as of Thursday, July 16. Overnight, the palm tree branches were trimmed back so the boat and the building stand out more. The boat "straps" are gone now, with permanent supports in place. A drain system was installed to remove rainwater that might collect inside the boat.

they will need to move these palms a bit to the sides. so it doesnt block the text, or the boat.

Boat is a nice touch.

Photo update as of Wednesday, July 15. Finally, last night the "hanging boat" was installed at the front entrance to The Boathouse. The boat is mostly hidden by the large palm trees, but the iron beams on the second story exterior were designed for this feature. The temporary straps holding the boat should be replaced with something more nautical in the future.

That is great news! They didn't make sense, so really glad to see that being done. :)

Many of the outside Boathouse auxiliary signs (Dockside Bar, Amphicar Launch and Landing, etc.) will be replaced soon with signs in the "Disney Springs" format and style. Unsure what they will look like, but the existing signs (and their color scheme) will be replaced. Source: Management.

Yea, I asked the same thing. I'm curious to see how the sides will work

wdwmagicMay 18, 2015

Yes it is 4 for a serves 2 dish.

LuvtheGoofMay 18, 2015

Well, there goes the restaurant. I'm still wondering if they will charge 2 credits each for the entrees that are advertised as for 2. If they charge 4 dining credits for one steak, people might be a bit hesitant, even though the restaurant is probably barely breaking even. And yes, what does that do for the sides that are extra?

PrincessNelly_NJMay 18, 2015

It does say it when you book the reservation, when you get the confirmation email.

Yep its a done deal.
