The Crepes des Chefs de France kiosk has been removed from the World Showcase promenade at the France pavilion ahead of the new La Crêperie de Paris opening.

La Crêperie de Paris is located in Remy's Ratatouille courtyard, which is set to begin Cast Member previews this week, opening to all guests on October 1 2021.

The Les Vins des Chefs de France kiosk remains on the promenade.

Hence the reason I said rides with similar movements. All three of those rides have similar movements and utilize screens to some effect. A person asking for Rat to be 2D who has issues with other trackless rides with screens is just throwing up a prayer that there is a microscopic chance it would become safe for them.

Part of it is motion and screens, in general. Not every screen-based ride, mind you. The screens in Gran Fiesta and NRJ don’t bother me at all. So with MMRR, and with one part of Ellen’s Energy Adventure, it’s certain screen action, especially when combined with motion. The flood/water scene in MMRR actually made me so disoriented I struggled with spatial awareness for a bit, and with Energy, the Big Bang scene could give me problems. I just closed my eyes for that part, and it was fine. My doctor told me years ago not to even attempt Soarin. Something about simulated movement/movement in tandem with screen-based motion can set it off, and 3D makes it far worse. So could I possibly still have an issue with 2D? Yes. But would I like to at least try and see if it would be a problem? Definitely.

A big factor are the glasses themselves, actually. Typically the glasses have a designated lifespan of 2-3 years max, and the repeated washing of them wears down the lens material over time. However in many cases the glasses remain in use far beyond their expected lifespan which results in a blurrier image from the older pairs of glasses.

My only issue with 3D attractions is when they blurry. When I rode Rat this summer the first scene looked a little off, but the rest of the ride was fine. And FoP wasn’t looking quite as sharp as a few years ago. Does anyone know what causes this? Lack of projector maintenance or something else?

When I visited Paris over new years they were running it in 2D - I didn’t realize that was a test I thought it was built that way and they added the 3d for the American audience. To me it didn’t really change the experience much.

The body doesn’t know it’s the same ride system. Differences in movements impact how people’s bodies react.

phillip9698Aug 27, 2025

It just doesn't make sense. MMRR is not a 3D ride. If that ride makes one sick then the same ride system with similar movement in another ride would give issues as well even if the 3D was removed. If MMRR and Rise, neither of which are 3D, both cause issues. Then changing Rat from 3D to 2D has a very low chance of becoming safe.

I know this won't affect me at all because it's only happening in Paris right now.... which was why I went on an upset rant about IF it happens in Epcot I will be upset, and the people I am talking about when I say "entitled people" are the ones all of us complain about on these forums who yell the loudest because they don't like something or they can't handle it. I don't get why what I'm saying in all my posts is so hard to understand.. Unless I'm just dumb and don't know how to word what I am thinking in my head. Sorry to everyone if that's the case. I'm just going to move on and stop replying to all this, because I am clearly saying things wrong, even though it's not my intention.

Shouldn’t be too hard, just need glasses that have the same polarization in both lenses. Heck I bet sunglasses would work.

nickysAug 27, 2025

Google says yes. Although it says they’re for movies, I imagine they’d work for rides.

MisterPenguinAug 27, 2025

Can one purchase personal "2D glasses" for their own use whenever they like in the same manner one could buy their own 3D glasses? *Excepting FoP which uses a different 3D tech... I think.

PurduevianAug 27, 2025

I'm guessing the OP who has ridden both MMRR and RAT knows what would and wouldn't make them sick

marni1971Aug 27, 2025

Whaaatttt??

Mr Ferret 75Aug 27, 2025

I would argue that a 2D rat wouldn't cause these issues.
