The Walt Disney World Railroad will return to the Magic Kingdom in the coming week, and Disney has today shared a few more details about the relaunch of the classic opening day attraction.

Cast Member previews have started today, and along with the refurbished track, Walt Disney Imagineering has added new narration with all new voice work.

"The familiar whistle of its steam engine will be complemented by exciting new sounds and voices," the team of Imagineers shared. "A new conductor has assumed the role, carrying on the long tradition of warm welcomes and amusing anecdotes while adding fresh commentary and story to the journey."

And Josh’s reign. He always gets off easy.

Not sure how much more wrong you could be. But... you still tried. And succeeded.

More generous than they are with MNSSHP-exclusives. If the lines are going to be long, it’s nice to have ride overlays and the (IMHO) stellar Christmas fireworks that week. We will see if DHS can afford to show JBJB for the poors spending about $200 on a day ticket on 12/26.

How generous of them!

It’s on every night of Christmas week, too.

And only turned on for those coughing up the money for MVMCP

I do love how ours looks at night this time of year. Its Christmas Party lighting package is a lot of fun.

I don't mind it being there if it were just up to the old Disney standards...the Hong Kong version had a lot of unusual landscaping and a few set pieces...the California version which has undergone changes over the years has a few set pieces and had an overhaul a long while back....the only overhaul ours has gotten was to make the track shorter... If they are going to keep it, make it fit in with Tomorrowland the way California did... More futuristic, more setting...I remember back in the 70s they had sound effects that I think are long gone... I would even be happy with a Sugar Rush re-do...with new cars, and a complete thematic package....

"Get rid of it, kids don't like it." "Actually, lots of kids like it." "Who cares what kids think?"

Kids are not a gage for quality. Kids will queue up for 'barnstormer' coaster too, or any other nonsense you put infront of them. Let's face it - the reality is this attraction is only there because it's budgetry. No one feels bothered to do anything about it, update it, or just mothball it. It was an attraction built in 1971, that should have been moth balled around 1972. Oh but the 'nostalga' brigrade' will be out in force. Oh it's our youth, etc Utter nonsense. These lot stop progress.

If I want my children to learn science, I pull out the Old Testament, thank you very much.

A Journey of Waterboarding seems to be in order.

The lack of geothermal ecological cognizance of a 12 year old is just a sign of bad parenting!! I hope you're remedying this with multiple trips through Journey of Water.

Looks like Donnie provoked a response.....
