The new walkway built as part of TRON Lightcycle Run is now open to all guests at Magic Kingdom.

With TRON Lightcycle Run now in soft opening, Disney has removed the rolling bushes alongside Tomorrowland Launch Bay and allows all guests to enter the area around the TRON marquee. Even guests without a virtual queue or Lightning Lane reservation can access the Energy Bytes snack kiosk and take the walkway to Storybook Circus.

The new walkway is a convenient shortcut to move between Tomorrowland and Fantasyland in less than a minute and offers some great views of the outdoor section of the ride.

I agree, that sun will be burning down on people, also its not the quickest loading for me, with only say 8-10 people in the show room, be interesting how long that line goes. if the line looks long for us, it'll be ILL's all round.

Yes! It’s an excellent ride experience. Definitely a must-do E-ticket. If it was longer and had a properly themed (or better hidden) show-building, it would be among the best additions on property.

If they add it early entry resort guest might be less likely to buy a lighten lane single pass thingy or whatever it's called now. 😉 💰

I haven’t ridden tron yet. I heard it’s short but is it good?

I favor “running with bulls” style. I miss the days of running at your own risk at rope drop. Great times!! At least Tokyo somewhat still does it—— a bit watered down these days but it’s still there.

I remember back in the old times when Frozen Ever After opened. Dozens trampled to death at rope drop. What a tragedy.

Not sure why that makes a difference. The safest way is to have a steady filtered flow of people making their way into the queue line (rather than a stampede) The BEST way of doing this is the actually entrance to the park itself. The steady flow is caused by everyone having to scan their magicbands at the entrance, so there is always that few seconds gap in between every entering guests. By congregating hundreds of people in a holding area (which gets more and more packed the closer to rope drop) and someone saying, "we are now open"..just causes an unnecessary stampede...people running, barging and heaven forbid someone falls over. Not opening Tron at early entry is potentially going to create quite a few issues.

Exactly...so there becomes a huge congregation of hundreds of people up against where the staff block the walkway...THEN once this is opened there is a full on stampede to the rIde. Why they cant just open the ride queue when early park entry starts so everyone who wants to get on Tron gets in a first come first served basis rather than whoever is fastest or barges past others the most

I’m sure it will join early entry later but I think it would be unwise to have it on early entry right at the very start of it having standby. The CMs need time to adjust for one thing, and they also need to be able to see what the plan of attack for opening it in the morning is. They would not get an accurate view of that with early entry off the bat. It will be weened off EE closure eventually but this is for now the right move.

What do you mean by filter in the queue? They can’t stop an unofficial queue forming just outside where they block it off.

Spenspuma1 day ago

Will they allow people to filter in the queue when they've stated Tron will not be open during early entry to resort guests?

Resort guests can get in line before the rush from the Hub. It should be possible to ride Space and then get to Tron before the crowds arrive. Others will go straight there and just wait. It really should be open for early entry though.

Not Not really. Take 7D at MK..yes, you calmly walk through various areas at rope drop, but inevitably come to a stop (at the final area where the staff stop you) this area becomes packed full of people on the run up to area opening time, waiting for the area to be opened...then once it is, it's a stampede to the rIde entrance.
