So run off Rapids has been closed for a while now. I a recent photo the pool is drained and its walled off what's up with the slide is this were the new slide is being put?
Update: run off rapids apparently doesn't exist anymore...I asked someone and they said "run off what?" And a cast member I have seen before said "sadly run off will NEVER reopen its getting ready to be demolished!"

Volcano Bay's rides are open!
The awesome Shark Reef closed for Miss Lamefest, and BB doing a River Country. No wonder I had an impromptu trip over to Volcano Beach this month instead - even if I did have free admission to both Disney Water Parks!
And I'm going back there too, great day!

Really worried about capacity issues before I attempt going to VB. They really need to presell tickets for certain days.

Well then that would probably explain it being closed but if this is going to be replaced will they wreak the hill?

If this is getting replaced with a new ride, they REALLY wasted time on this thing. Could've either ran the slides till the upcoming refurb, or started demolition and construction earlier.

What I find interesting about the latest aerial photo is that someone got up there and cleaned out all those slides and the pool after the hurricane. So I wouldn't say its completely abandoned at this point. Maybe its going to be fixed in the upcoming refurb and they wanted to minimize the amount of damage to the slides so they still went ahead and cleaned it out.

Finally made it to Blizzard Beach for the first time ever this September. A fun, well-realized theme and a well laid out park with some very different slide experiences from those at Typhoon Lagoon. Saw the Runoff Rapid slides from the lazy river and they really were needed to round out this park's attraction list which was noticeably thin. That whole back side of the mountain seems prime for expansion so I have hope.
I will say that of anything on Disney property this park is most in need of a refurb. From a distance all looked great, but wear and tear was noticeable up close (though this was also a week after the hurricane.) Typhoon Lagoon still reigns supreme for me though I've still not yet experienced Aquatica which I'm told is nice.
