Disney is casting performers for its interim summer night show at Disney's Animal Kingdom, and it gives a little more information about what we can expect.

The casting is for a group of four performers, with Disney looking for musicians proficient on Indian style instruments that will perform live with vocalists and dancers.

Instruments include Tabla, Sitar, Bansuri, Dilruba, and Ravanahatha.

'Jungle Book: Alive with Magic' opens on May 27 2016, ahead of the park's permanent show Rivers of Light, which is yet to receive a confirmed opening date since the cancellation of its April 22 debut.

“Jungle Book: Alive with Magic” Show – Discovery River will become the stage for a limited-engagement show inspired by Disney’s hit live-action film “The Jungle Book.” “Jungle Book: Alive with Magic” is filled with music and special effects that celebrates the new film and the classic songs, now infused with an Indian influence.

I agree, the show was horrible. The only reason it was crowded last night was because 90% in attendance were Cast Members.

Good riddance.

Say what you will about the show (and I'm in the "good riddance" column for the record) - at least Disney did SOMETHING for the summer season. Yes, you could argue they needed to because there was a whole marketing program designed around AK being open late and having a new nighttime show. But JB:AwM certainly wasn't a cheap show to operate given the large cast, and it was thrown together in about a month. So some credit where it's due. Was the show brilliant? No. But at least Disney put something out there. Now, bring on the real show!

did anyone cry when the last show ended? too soon?

The Indian style floats. If you're going to hate, at least get your world geography correct.

October is the new target. AS ALWAYS that is subject to change given the total poop show this entire ordeal has been.

I meant the floating stages not the transport barges.

Im sorry no. Don't be jealous cause you have a rinky dinky toy boat while we have the beautiful twain. ;) OH and a pirate ship!

Magic FeatherSep 06, 2016

I think he was referencing the floating stages, but the transport barges.

It's literally the same floats, just redressed:

I'm talking about the Arabic style floats. The Disneyland Fantasmic floats are cool.

RSoxNo1Sep 05, 2016

Yeah, Disneyland's Fantasmic sucks

brb1006Sep 05, 2016

Today is the final day for those ugly floats.
