The planned refurbishment of "For the First Time in Forever: A Frozen Sing-Along Celebration" at Disney's Hollywood Studios has been postponed.

The closure was planned to begin August 22 through September 9 2022, with performances resuming on September 10 2022. This has now been delayed, with no updated dates yet available.

Plans for the refurbishment included updates to the theater, with new carpeting and seating.

THIS^^^ How many more guests per day are in this park than before SWGE? And how much net new capacity?

mattpetoJan 30, 2023

Agreed. No reason to swap out this show for another in the same space. Animation Courtyard has to be a priority, at some point... I do kind of wish that they would add some Frozen 2 content, but I'm sure there are story and time constraints. I feel like at this point though, they are ignoring the superior music catalog. (Well, at least we get a F2 beat in F!)

Exactly. Plus I was as skeptical of this show as most of us but ended up finding it surprisingly charming.

Sorry, but we don't need anymore replacing at DHS. Put that in the old VOTLM theater or Launch Bay. The other 3 parks. Need. Capacity.

its amazing that this still exists.

*Sigh* Such a shame this isn't an Encanto Sing a long now..And it can pay tribute to the last show with this song..

The show has returned from its refurbishment. New seats and carpeting. Also apparently the show's choreography was returned fully to pre-pandemic levels, as well stage sets refreshed. Could say this was a technical refurbishment too. Seats were previously blue and carpet had a swirl pattern (although these social distancing signs were already gone iirc): Source and more pics:

And yet they have not added any of the songs from the sequel considering how long it's been since it's release.

The Frozen Sing Along show is great and it’s even better when they play the holiday version. They have space at the Voyage of the Little Mermaid to do something with Encanto. That whole Animation Courtyard is a massive skip at this point.

An Encanto Sing Along would be much better now in it's place.. And then there's the purist thinking Frozen is better to hear "let it go" rather than "We don't talk about Bruno."

Just a reminder if you're heading to Hollywoods Studios in January - the Frozen Sing-Along will be closed for refurbishment January 9-27. I believe that theater got an update between the American Idol Experience and Frozen moving in. That took place in 2015, so it's not inconceivable that it needs a general maintenance update.

But Disney as a company is still Disney as a company... So why are they even bothering? :)

But those shows aren't based on Frozen, ergo, they're not as high a priority.
