Tiana's Riverboat Party with Festival of Fantasy Parade viewing coming soon

The Magic Kingdom is offering another dessert party with parade viewing - Tiana's Riverboat Party, debuting November 29 2016.

This special event is available for $49 per adult and $29 for children ages 9 and under (tax included). For reservations, you can book online or by calling (407) WDW-DINE or (407) 939-3463.

Check in is at the Liberty Square Riverboat entrance 45 minutes before the parade begins. The Riverboat will be closed to guests 2 hours before the parade begins, and for one after the parade.

Here are the details:

"Make the most of your next visit to Magic Kingdom park, where Princess Tiana and Prince Naveen are throwing an unforgettable party… and you’re invited! The occasion begins on the dock as your royal hosts welcome you and your sweet tooth to an ice cream social, complete with ice cream and toppings, drinks, and sweet treats.

Then board the Liberty Square Riverboat and relax while enjoying the Disney Festival of Fantasy Parade—all from the comfort of your special viewing location!

After the parade, Tiana and Naveen will join you to continue the party as you all cruise around the Rivers of America, circling Tom Sawyer Island."

They could always extend operating hours to compensate for the closure...but that's unlikely.

Unreasonable to wonder if they're trying to backend some of the revenue they had anticipated from RoL dining / dessert packages?

Okay. So I get why people hate this. I do. But this is the only dessert party that has ever even seemed slighly appealing to me. It's a shame that it will cut down on capacity for the ride tho

When MK opened the Rivers of America had two riverboats, keelboats and canoes to choose from. Now the only boat left is being closed for three hours a day for most guests. Maybe this is part of longer-term plan to dock the riverboat permanently?

Me: You see that at the Riverboat? That's where a family just like ours can spend $160 for dessert and view a parade.
Wife: Do those people know they can get dessert for less EVERYWHERE else.
Me: Dunno
Wife: Do those people know they can view the parade from pretty much ANYWHERE else
Me: Guess not
Wife: Hahahahahahahaha hahahahahahahahaha. Oh, geez, that's rich. Lets go, our Splash FP+ window is expiring.

I'm not a fan of these things. But can't be mad at Disney. Be mad at the people who allow it, those paying guests.
Personally, I'm not mad at anyone on this though. It doesn't effect my vacation one bit. If a family wants to have dessert in a "VIP" setting and pay for it, then great. Chances are I won't even notice, I got my own vacation going on.
