Possibility of a refurbishment at EPCOT's Parking Plaza as canopy is removed

The Parking Plaza at EPCOT looks like it may be about to get a long overdue refurbishment.

The canopy structure that sits above the roofline was removed earlier this month. The support structure remains, but the fabric material is gone.

With all other areas of EPCOT being refreshed, it would make sense to update the dated-looking parking plaza with the current typeface design and general refresh.

I can't speak to the validity of that member's claim, but I suspect it would be difficult to procure a parking booth in a matter of days, and it's not like they just have them lying around like lightbulbs.

Wow no I didn’t know that. Expected this was the first in a complete replacement.

You perhaps don't know this has nothing to do with a refurb. That kiosk was taken out a couple nights ago by a car.

Issue with Epcot is that they tend to close off a decent amount of parking for the RunDisney events, so they are forced to park people there. Considering that Disability parking is at capacity any given day, surprised to see they haven't converted that grass lot until additional parking space for Disability.

Has it ever come to a point where they park in grass at MK, AK or DHS? I've seen it happen several times at Epcot by the bus dropoff area but, hardly there or are those lots much bigger?

Just about to say the same thing. Disney doesn’t need a parking garage to pack them into Epcot, they’ll even use the grass when there’s demand for it.

That’s….not how any of that works.

Increased parking fees will be the next upgrade

Right, I said they should do something. I just also said that I don't think a pressure washer is cutting it anymore in some of these areas.

It even comes in "Epcot" Color

I think the panels are just damaged and stained beyond what a pressure washer can address. Several on and around Earth Station seem to be in a similar state. That said, they should just replace them.

I vote for lighting rods.

Get a pressure washer and a ladder. I think they go for less than $60B.
