Work is now moving towards to the side facing World Showcase.

Well, at least, here, it's a contrasting color. The problem with the one by Connections and the replacement here is white on white making it less noticeable.

No worries and I recognize only a subset will be bothered by it. This is the kind of stuff we pick apart every day at my firm. Lol. I still think there’s better ways to execute those two items than they did here, but I’m not losing sleep over it.

Is there a reason the lights couldn't have gone along the outside walls instead of literally in the middle of the walkway??

That would work. Also have the base have its own lighting would help. Or, extending the diameter of the base up to eye height. Or, surrounding the pole with a circular table at bar-height for eating or drinking.
