2022 Concept Art for EPCOT World Celebration
Posted: Thursday May 5, 2022 7:19am ET by WDWMAGIC Staff

Disney has today released new concept art for the updated look for World Celebration and World Nature at EPCOT which most notably includes a new CommuniCore Hall building to stand on the former Communicore West site.

In these new renderings we get to see the EPCOT World Celebration Gardens and the new Festival building called CommuniCore Hall that replaces the originally planned elevated structure. Also part of this new building will be an indoor meet and greet location for Mickey and Friends, which is approximately in the same location at the old Character Spot.

The new art shows a lot of changes from the original concept released in August 2019 which you can see below.

CommuniCore Hall, a multi-use facility, and CommuniCore Plaza, an outdoor event space, will bring the park’s international festivals to the center of EPCOT. CommuniCore Plaza will have the flexibility to host intimate musical performances that extend out into the nearby gardens.

CommuniCore Hall will be a flexible exhibition and gallery space, offering a wide variety of experiences that highlight art, live music, food – complete with a demonstration kitchen – and more.

Disney says that the new CommuniCore Hall is "inspired by the original EPCOT aesthetic apparent throughout the park’s transformation, including the timeless triangular geometry most prominently featured in Spaceship Earth."

These new renderings below show more of the EPCOT Gardens that will be home to various festivals.

And here is how World Nature and Journey of Water will connect with World Celebration.

They're probably trying to convince PPG to pay for more sponsored construction walls

This looks like another makeshift fix well suited for this awful area. BRING BACK THE FOUNTAIN OF NATIONS! I welcome having construction walls back up for as long as it takes to bring back the fountain.

But I thought the multiyear reimagining of EPCOT was completed?

They're so haphazardly drilled that I wonder what the timeline for replacement is. This feels like someone said "drill it down so it'll last us 6 weeks and we don't have to close it off before (insert something) happens". It's one of the sloppiest of overnight patch jobs I've ever seen. They're also destroying the product that they just replaced and there's massive chipping/fragments around where the screws have been drilled. And if it was meant to be a long term solution, one would hope they would place white tipped screws uniformly at the end of each piece instead of what we're seeing

Put Horizons stickers on top of the screws. That'll make it brilliant Epcot theming.

Hilarious this is the state of the park, given they guy who was in charge of this at the time was completely obsessed with flooring.

This is embarrassing... Or rather, this should be embarrassing, but I fear those who should truly be accountable for this shield themselves from embarrassment...

Problem solved. /thread

The new glue will hold it down. The only thing that would deteriorate it is some heat.

I wonder what the point of all that was…
