2022 Concept Art for EPCOT World Celebration
Posted: Thursday May 5, 2022 7:19am ET by WDWMAGIC Staff

Disney has today released new concept art for the updated look for World Celebration and World Nature at EPCOT which most notably includes a new CommuniCore Hall building to stand on the former Communicore West site.

In these new renderings we get to see the EPCOT World Celebration Gardens and the new Festival building called CommuniCore Hall that replaces the originally planned elevated structure. Also part of this new building will be an indoor meet and greet location for Mickey and Friends, which is approximately in the same location at the old Character Spot.

The new art shows a lot of changes from the original concept released in August 2019 which you can see below.

CommuniCore Hall, a multi-use facility, and CommuniCore Plaza, an outdoor event space, will bring the park’s international festivals to the center of EPCOT. CommuniCore Plaza will have the flexibility to host intimate musical performances that extend out into the nearby gardens.

CommuniCore Hall will be a flexible exhibition and gallery space, offering a wide variety of experiences that highlight art, live music, food – complete with a demonstration kitchen – and more.

Disney says that the new CommuniCore Hall is "inspired by the original EPCOT aesthetic apparent throughout the park’s transformation, including the timeless triangular geometry most prominently featured in Spaceship Earth."

These new renderings below show more of the EPCOT Gardens that will be home to various festivals.

And here is how World Nature and Journey of Water will connect with World Celebration.

That's pretty sad and disappointing to see. I saw a video fairly recently and they were operational. We go in July, and was looking forward to spending a bit of time there over two weeks for some pics of it all lit up at night

I hope wdwmagic can get a better video, that sites video is constant ads and then goes into a whole different video.

I wonder if LwtL's Christmas decorations, which totally was a huge draw with queues at night hitting an hour, was a sign that if they spruced it up a bit more outside of Christmas, it would help with capacity, since it often only has a 5 minute queue.

I like improved lighting but I feel this needs to be a bit adjusted. Seems overdone but again, pictures and videos aren't going to show what it's really like. Anyways, I'm so happy to see the ride getting regular love and can't wait to see it in person.

Love this sort of stuff. A ride doesn’t need a massive overhaul all at once, iterative improvements through the years culminate to an exceptional experience over time. It reminds me of Disneyland. I honestly wish they would leave more room for improvement in new rides. A lot may never come to fruition, but if you allow for future plussing (not an excuse to cheap out) you can ultimately deliver a better product through the years.
