It appears as though Epcot's main character meet and greet area may be closing after the busy summer season.
According to those familiar with the situation, Character Spot is expected to close on September 8 2019. The Future World character location currently hosts Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, Baymax and Joy & Sadness.
The building is expected to be largely removed as part of the all new Epcot central spine redevelopment, although Disney is yet to announce details of the project or confirm any related closures. Disney has previously said that we will learn more about the new Epcot at the upcoming D23 Expo in Anaheim August 23-25 2019.
