Epcot's Captain EO to be replaced by 'Disney and Pixar Short Film Festival' next month

Disney has today announced that Captain EO will have its final performance on December 6 2015 to make way for a new experience.

"Disney & Pixar Short Film Festival" will let guests experience some fan favorite animated shorts in 3D, complete with in-theater effects.

According to Disney, "Disney & Pixar Short Film Festival will include a look into the visionary minds behind some of the world's most iconic animated films today.

Then inside the theater, guests can put on their 3D glasses and enter the imaginative worlds of three animated shorts, which will burst to life on the big screen (and in the theater) like never before."

I could hardly hear the dialogue when the seats started moving in synth with the Carriage scene.

The Shrek Pre-Show is excellent. The main show is awful and the seat moving is a detriment because of how poorly it's executed.

I'm gonna give Shrek 4D an edge over Pixar. At least you get physical elements in the preshow, as well as the Tinkerbell effect in the theater. Do the seats move in Pixar?

True.. However, it would definitely be a totally different experience, though. And wouldn't rely on musical numbers! Therefore being able to use many non-musical Disney films.

I, personally, still prefer the Wonders of Life pavilion Inside Out takeover instead... With a new family-thrill Dreamfinder/Figment 4D attraction in the Magic Eye... Similar to the STYLE of say the Jimmy Neutron attraction that was at Universal.. Have Dreamfinder and Figment go on a high-flying adventure with Dreamfinder's new Imagination-transporter, transporting through different Disney universes.

Riley's First Date wasn't exactly that good a short for a theme park 3D show. Thing I've heard is Inside Out's just gonna be the long-term replacement for the Magic Eye rather then a full pavilion takeover and I'd rather it stay that way and we get Figment and Dreamfinder back together in the ride itself.
